After the state of Pennsylvania recently joined the U.S. Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), WSOP Online (the U.S. online poker arm of the World Series of Poker) has announced a beefed-up online series this summer with 30 gold bracelets up for grabs.

The WSOP Online player pool now includes Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, covering a total population of more than 35 million people. The platform becomes the first to cover all four states and marks a significant milestone for WSOP Online and the greater American regulated online poker industry.

With the expansion, players now have the chance to compete in larger player pools for bracelets this summer as the live WSOP plays out at the Paris and Horseshoe casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

“The addition of the Pennsylvania player pool to WSOP Online comes at the perfect time, and we’re ready to give avid poker players in the Keystone State the opportunity to raise the stakes on their poker play,” Caesars Entertainment Vice President of Online Poker Danielle Barille said.

“This expansion enhances the experience for players by building even greater prize pools that are up for grabs all summer long as a part of our jam-packed WSOP Online schedule. We’re ready to see who earns our largest online prize pools ever once the first hands are dealt this summer.”

What is WSOP Online?

So what can online poker players expect this summer? The schedule includes 30 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $250 to $5,300 and a total of $5.5 million in guaranteed prize pools. Five of the bigger buy-in events also include live play for final tables. A multi-flight colossus event, a huge-field event that has become a staple at the live WSOP, is also on the schedule this year

The first bracelet event kicks off on May 31 with the final tournament set for July 15. A tournament will be held every Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday of the series.

This year, the schedule is highlighted by six mystery bounty events with $5.5 million in guarantees. For the uninitiated, instead of awarding a set amount for each bounty, players are awarded a random bounty that may be much greater than what might be found in a normal bounty tournament.

Some of the larger buy-in highlights on the schedule include:

  • June 1 – $555 No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) Mystery Bounty ($1 million guaranteed
  • June – $888 NLHE Crazy Eights
  • June 3 – $1,000 NLHE PKO (progressive knockout)
  • June 17 – $3,200 NLHE High Roller (live final table)
  • June 28 – $5,300 High Roller Six-man (live final table)
  • July 6 – $1,000 NLHE Mystery Bounty Championship ($1.5 million guaranteed)
  • July 9 – $1,000 NLHE High Roller Championship (live final table)

Players with lower bankrolls have several events to choose from as well. Here’s a look at a few of those:

  • May 31 – $250 NLHE Kickoff
  • June 8 – $333 Triple Treys NLHE
  • June 1 – $250 NLHE Mystery Bounty ($1 million guaranteed)
  • July 3 – $400 NLHE Colossus (multiple starting flights)
  • July 18 – $400 NLHE Mystery Bounty Six-Max ($1 million guaranteed)

Last year, the WSOP Online bracelet series awarded more than $30 million in prize money. With the expanded schedule and the addition of Pennsylvania, topping that total seems likely. Competitors in the live series in Las Vegas are allowed to play on WSOP Online while also participating in live WSOP events. Here’s a look at the complete online schedule.

Players looking to grab a seat in the live WSOP $10,000 Main Event in Las Vegas will have some online qualifying opportunities. Two 25-seat scramble satellites are set for June 29 and July 1. Players can also qualify for other live WSOP events throughout the series with satellites starting at just $1.

New WSOP+ Apps Aim to Make Registration Easier

In related news, the series has released the new WSOP+ app to make registering for events at the Horseshoe and Paris easier. The app allows players to register and buy into events ahead of time, bypassing long lines sometimes seen at the registration cage.

Additionally, WSOP+ features a virtual waiting list and paging system, allowing participants to receive notifications when their seat becomes available. Players will no longer have to wait in late registration lines and instead be placed into a virtual queue in sequential order.

The app, which can be downloaded at WSOPPlus.com, also features the WSOP schedule of events, structure sheets, rules, chip counts, daily results, next day’s seat assignments, prizes, and more..

WSOP+ will further elevate the WSOP experience for all of our players,” WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said. “Not only can our community now save time and effort by registering in advance for their favorite tournaments, but the app will also showcase WSOP content and all of the important event information that participants are eager to have at their fingertips.
