Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center is slated to open next month in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ahead of its mid-November launch—with an exact opening date expected soon—executives with Peninsula Pacific Entertainment are aggressively recruiting seasoned gaming professionals to anchor the floor.

To meet its tight timeline, the property’s job portal is advertising openings across every division, from gaming operations and dining to its 1,500-seat performance hall and an unprecedented on-site educational center.

Dealers and Supervisors Most Needed

Speaking with Iowa’s News Now, Cedar Crossing Casino General Manager Kim Pang emphasized that experienced table games dealers and floor supervisors remain the property’s highest priority. To lure credentialed talent, the casino is dangling $2,000 sign-on bonuses for dealers and $2,500 for supervisors.

It’s always easier when you have experienced people working with inexperienced people, and they can help each other. The learning curve is a little better,” Pang said. “Those [bonuses] will entice people to want to join our property.”

Pang noted that a fully staffed dealer pool enables the casino to maximize its operational footprint, increasing both table availability and game variety on night one. While local residents in Cedar Rapids and Linn County received initial hiring priority, Peninsula Pacific has now opened applications to candidates statewide.

Beyond the pit, Cedar Crossing is actively filling slots for slot technicians, casino hosts, cage cashiers, security officers, marketing staff, and full food-and-beverage teams ranging from line cooks to restaurant managers. In total, the resort expects to employ more than 350 people.

Gaming Footprint and Historic STEM Center

Assuming staffing targets are met, Cedar Crossing plans to debut with 700 slot machines, 22 live-dealer table games, and a retail sportsbook. Its 1,500-seat Event Center promises an intimate guest layout where no seat is further than 79 feet from the stage.

The development will also make gaming industry history as the first U.S. casino to feature a dedicated, on-site STEM learning facility.

Accessible via a separate dedicated entrance, the 5,000-square-foot facility—dubbed the Compass Center—will open with Astronaut, an interactive exhibit designed to educate children and families on spaceflight technology.
