VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Sphere Not Harry’s Style, Country Star Won’t Say Why She Canceled

  • The Sphere isn’t Harry’s style
  • Kelsey Ballerini high steps out of scheduled Vegas show
  • A long Weeknd in Vegas

British pop star Harry Styles isn’t planning a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere after all. And, according to a spokesperson for the globular venue, he never was.

Last week, we shared the rumor that the singer was “in final negotiations” to bring the Sphere its first Gen Z-forward marquee act.  This was reported as a virtual fact by the normally reliable New York Post (for which we covered Hollywood for five years, by the way).

Following the March 7 report, Styles’ fans gushed over the prospect of a reason to enter the Sphere. but the Post‘s news was apparently news to the Sphere as well.

To set the record straight, there has never been plans for Harry Styles to perform at Sphere,” a venue spokesperson told Billboard.

In July 2023, Styles concluded his 169-date “Love on Tour” excursion, posting this three-minute highlight reel to his nearly 40 million Instagram followers. “To the most inspiring people I know,” he wrote. Goodbye for now.”

Ballerini Dances Around Cancellation Reason

County star Kelsea Ballerini was supposed to perform at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on March 28. But this Tuesday, the five-time Grammy nominee abruptly canceled the engagement with no explanation — only an email from the venue announcing the cancellation and informing them that refunds would automatically be applied to their credit cards.

Hundreds of TikTok users were left understandably heartbroken, but also demanding answers. As reported by countrynow.com, one made a video plea to Ballerini, explaining that she was “going through the five stages of grief.”

“Girl, please say sike (sic) right now. please say sike,” she captioned the video. “I have been daydreaming about this concert for I don’t know how long. I don’t know why its canceled… Please reschedule it. … It was the only thing I was looking forward to this year.”

“I’m so devastated!!” another fan noted in the comments. “Rental car, hotel, everything is paid for… I was planning on traveling 700 miles for the show. I hope she’s okay, and I would really appreciate some legit feedback/information.”

Ballerini fans were similarly disappointed last month when she cut one show short and rescheduled two others. That was due to an illness that she informed her fans about via social media. So far, she’s remained silent about her Vegas cancellation.

Multiple TikTok users claimed to have called the venue and been told that the promoter canceled the gig due to low ticket sales.

Ballerini performs tonight at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

Extended Weeknd

The Weeknd has added a new date at Allegiant Stadium as part of his “After Hours Til Dawn” tour. Tickets for the July 4 gig go on sale at 10 am PT, Friday, March 14 via Ticketmaster. Ahead of the general on-sale, fans can grab VIP packages starting at 10 a.m. PT, Tuesday, March 11.
