Royal Caribbean Casino Bar Fight Goes Viral as Cruise Ship Security Faces Backlash

Royal Caribbean is facing backlash for security protocols after a video showing two women in a casino bar fight went viral on social media.

The Daily Sneed X account posted a video today (Aug. 7) showing a white and black woman in a heated exchange aboard a cruise ship at the casino bar.

The video begins with the black woman repeatedly telling the white woman to “f**k off.” As onlookers notice the interaction, the black woman says, “She came in my face. You see her come in my face.”

The white woman refuses to move while smiling.

“Get the f**k out of my face,” the black woman repeatedly declares, the white woman continuing to smirk at the bartender.

“Tell her to get out of my face. Tell this b***h to get out of my face,” the black woman continues. “F***k you in my face for? Back up!”

The black woman then slaps the white woman, reaches for what appears to be a pint glass, and threatens to throw the glassware at her as the white woman walks away and two men intervene.

The black woman then continually repeats, “What you gonna do?” “What’s up?” and “What happened?”

Where’s Security?

It’s unclear what led to the heated disagreement between the two women. The viral video, however, raised concerns about cruise ship security.

At no point during the 78-second video is security seen, despite the exchange becoming increasingly heated and escalating. No cruise ship staff member attempted to intervene until the very end, when a server holding a tray of drinks approached the black woman.

The incident reportedly occurred on Utopia of the Seas, the very Royal Caribbean cruise ship that we reported on this week debuting a digital lottery product. Royal Caribbean had not commented on the viral video as of Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. EST.

The video shared by The Daily Sneed, an X account with 141.9K followers that regularly posts videos showing crime, was approaching a million views as of Friday afternoon.

As of this writing, Royal Caribbean ranked 17th on X’s list of “Global Trending” posts. Carnival, which some mistakenly thought was the cruise line in question, ranked 27th.

The video originated from the Instagram user “dukeofhoagies” who was gambling in Casino Royale when the fight occurred.

Cruise Ship Safety

Casinos are constantly surveilled and come with heightened security compared with most other businesses. Accessing casinos often requires going through a security checkpoint, and on-floor security team members make their presence known.

Cruise ships are generally considered safe vacation options, with large ships having dedicated security. But viral social media videos, such as the one above, may affect that general perception.
