Kelly Clarkson Cancels First Two Dates of New Vegas Residency

Kelly Clarkson canceled the first two shows of her second Las Vegas residency at the last minute on Friday, blaming unexpected vocal damage caused by intense rehearsals.
Clarkson had been scheduled to kick off her “Studio Sessions” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 4. Just 90 minutes before showtime, however, an announcement on the “Since U Been Gone” singer’s Instagram page broke the bad news.
Both her Friday and Saturday shows were scratched, pushing the residency’s start to July 11.

“The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice,” the statement read. “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”
The residency was originally scheduled for 18 shows wrapping on Nov. 15, 2025, with 14 from July 4-Aug. 16 and the last four starting Nov. 7.
“We have been working 24/7 to make ‘Studio Sessions’ the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,” the statement continued. “I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”
Before the cancellation, seats for Clarkson’s Friday opening were listed online from $133 for balcony seats to $1,200 for premium resale seats.
“The show is truly incredible,” Clarkson’s statement concluded. “The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on!”
The Ticketmaster page for Clarkson’s residency refers to the two concerts as “postponed,” not canceled, so they are expected to be rescheduled.
Clarkson’s first Vegas residency, “Chemistry: An Intimate Evening,” featured 14 shows in 2023 and 2024 that went off without a hitch at Planet Hollywood, another Caesars Entertainment property.

For some I know who drove the 12 hours from Boise, there is no “redo” when Kelly’s voice recovers, the scheduling stars will never align again. This was a once in a lifetime. Beyond sad.
