An Ontario player on theScore Casino has walked away with a record $1.86 million win on a $1.10 spin, the igaming operator announced.
Record Jackpot
The DropZone jackpot Thursday night is the biggest win in theScore Casino history, a spokesperson said.
The winner was playing Hollywood Casino Neon Vault, an exclusive title only available on theScore Casino.
DropZone is a progressive jackpot, accrued from play across theScore Casino’s catalogue of games by opted-in players. The DropZone jackpot in Ontario is back over $300,000 as of this morning.
Standalone Casino App
In Canada, theScore Casino and theScore Bet are owned by PENN Entertainment. PENN operates in 27 jurisdictions across North America, with a broad diversification of casinos, racetracks and online sports betting and icasino offerings. The company also has an in-house icasino content studio, generating content like Hollywood Casino Neon Vault.
PENN launched theScore Casino as a stand-alone app last April, while iCasino has been part of theScore Bet since the Ontario market opened in April 2022. Currently, theScore Casino offers over 2,200 games, including exclusive branded titles from key partnerships, like Blue Jays Blackjack.
Alberta Launch
A spokesperson from PENN confirmed the plan for the company is to have both the sportsbook and casino apps available in Alberta, when that market goes live July 13.
“In our Interactive segment, continued online casino growth combined with positive trends in Ontario are driving momentum as we prepare for the anticipated July 13 launch of regulated iCasino and online sports betting in Alberta,” said PENN President & CEO Jay Snowden during a recent earnings call two weeks ago.
Progressive Jackpot Grows
Our Interactive segment delivered a meaningful Adjusted EBITDA improvement year-over-year, which marks the first full quarter under our realigned digital strategy. iCasino revenue growth of approximately 15% year-over-year was driven by the continued momentum of standalone iCasino, which notably achieved record quarterly revenue in the first quarter as well as record monthly revenue in March. The trends we are seeing provide us with confidence in the trajectory of the business and upcoming launch in Alberta”
For PENN customers in the U.S., the current DropZone jackpots in Pennsylvania and Michigan are both sitting at more than $2 million on the Hollywood Casino app. In the U.S., Hollywood Casino is available as both a standalone app and within theScore Bet Sportsbook in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
