All-Time Record-Setting Month for Ontario iGaming

Ontario’s open, regulated igaming market generated CAD $9.59 billion in total cash wagers in March, a record, according to statistics released by iGaming Ontario.

$9.52 Billion In Cash Wagers
Total cash wagers were an 10% increase compared to February and beat the previous high for handle – $9.52 billion in January.
Handle in March 2025 was $7.95 billion.
According to the iGaming Ontario website, there are 45 licensed operators, and 79 gaming websites live in the province, as of today, with more operators currently working through licensing with the AGCO.
13% Increase in Revenue
In terms of total non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) for March, the Ontario market generated $387 million, a 13% month-over-month increase.
Active player accounts were down 5%, though, to 1.235 million, compared to February. Average revenue per active player account was up 19% compared to February, though, at $313.
Casino continued to dominate, as it has since the regulated market launched in April 2022. In March, the market saw $8.33 billion in casino handle, another all-time high, for an 87% market share.
Poker Sees Big Uptick
Sports betting came in at $1.08 billion in handle, a 14% increase compared to February, and an 11% market share. P2P Poker saw a 36% month-over-month increase in handle, at $183 million, for 2% market share.
On the NAGGR front, casino was $318.5 million, for an 82% market share (16% month-over-month increase), with sports betting at $61.6 million (16% market share, 1% month-over-month increase) and poker at $6.9 million (2% market share, 28% month-over-month increase).
With poker, while play is currently geo-fenced within Ontario borders, that could soon be changing, with a court case that would open play up beyond Ontario borders currently being appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Active Player Accounts Decrease
Overall, Ontario has seen $27.8 billion in total cash wagers so far in 2026, with operators taking home $1.13 billion in NAGGR.
Financial data for the Ontario is released monthly by iGaming Ontario, and does not include financial results from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s Proline platform.
In the Ontario, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario is the regulator, and oversees registration, while iGO has a commercial conduct and manage role.
