Swedish-based Betsson is back in business in the Ontario regulated iGaming market, re-establishing a direct B2C presence by acquiring Rhino Entertainment Group’s Casino Days.

Betsson announced Monday (Aug. 3, 2026) that it had completed the acquisition, first announced in March. The company also acquired a set of Rhino’s B2B technology assets, including front-end and middleware technology.
Betsson Returns to Ontario
“This technology will strengthen Betsson’s B2B offering and is expected to drive incremental licensing revenue within Betsson’s B2B business,” the company said in a statement.
Betsson had entered Ontario through its Betsafe brand in February 2023. That site went dark on March 31, 2026, with a website notice stating the Betsafe Ontario app would be “temporarily unavailable”.
Casino Days Changes Hands
Betsafe is no longer listed in the iGaming Ontario database of licensed iGaming operators.
Rhino Entertainment Group, founded in 2020, owns and operates Casino Days in Ontario, launched in February 2023, and Big Boost and Lucky Spins. Kahnawake, a Mohawk territory in Quebec, has licensed those brands through the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) since 2022, making them available elsewhere in Canada.
Canadian Expansion Strategy
And on July 13, Casino Days launched in Alberta’s new competitive, regulated iGaming market, one of 22 sites that went live that day.
The total purchase price for Betsson’s acquisition of Rhino is €64.5 million (US$74.3 million). Betsson is one of the world’s larger online gaming companies, offering sports betting, online casino, poker, and bingo across 20 brands in regulated markets worldwide.
“The target business currently serves Canadian customers and is well-positioned to expand into additional Canadian provinces as local regulatory frameworks continue to evolve,” the company said in a statement on March 12, 2026.
