- Bovada experienced operational issues this week
- Bovada customers continue to encounter account problems
- Bovada says it has remedied the situation
Bovada is on damage control after many players expressed frustrations with the online casino and sportsbook amid what is seemingly a technical disruption or possible hack.

Bovada, the controversial online gambling website that has been sent cease-and-desist letters by numerous state gaming regulatory agencies and attorneys general in recent months for allegedly operating illegally, is responding to a slew of customer complaints on social media. The grievances include gamblers asking where their weekly bonuses are, withdrawals not being processed, accounts being disabled, and missing funds.
Heads up, just talked to Bovada about my crypto deposit. They can’t find it in their system despite my crypto wallet saying it has been processed,” read one post on X.
On Tuesday, Bovada said the issues had been remedied.
We’re pleased to report that all deposit issues have now been resolved and delayed transactions have been processed,” a Bovada statement read.
While some comments on X said their transactions and bonuses had finally been executed, many others said they were still encountering problems.
Bovada Acknowledges Troubles
In a follow-up statement issued Wednesday, Bovada conceded that its previous post was premature and that the fixes the online gaming operation made aren’t immediate on the consumer’s end.
We see you. We hear you. We’re still here with you. We have to work through the backlog of contacts while we were out. We can confirm that everything is working as expected, however, it will take us some time to work through it,” the vague statement began.
“For those who have reached out, our player service teams are working through your issues as fast as we possibly can. For the majority of us, it’s game time. Thanks again for your patience,” the release continued.
Comments to the X post were flooded with customers asking when their weekly crypto bonuses would post. Some said their accounts remained disabled, and others highlighted that the Mega Scratch Card promo was removed without explanation.
Offshore Outfit
Bovada, formerly Bodog until 2011, is a website that claims to be licensed and regulated by the Union of the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara. The company is headquartered in Costa Rica.
Bovada is no longer accessible in 17 states and Washington, DC, after officials in those jurisdictions ordered the online business to exit their markets on allegations that the website is an illegal gambling enterprise.
Gaming regulators and attorneys general have warned the public that participating with an online casino and sportsbook like Bovada that isn’t licensed or regulated in the state where it’s offering its services comes with significant risk.
“Bovada has presented itself as a legitimate American gambling operator, but without any proper Massachusetts license,” said Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. “Unlicensed operators pose a substantial danger to consumers because they do not go through the same rigorous review as licensed operators, have limited or no protections against gambling addiction and underage play, and do not provide consumers with reliable access to their funds since most unlicensed operators are offshore.”

I've been with Bovada since it was BoDog. Never had any funds stolen or missing. And I've also been thru multiple so called "tech" issues over the years. This latest outage, to me, felt different. Luckily I wasn't affected by the deposit or withdrawal issue. But to me, it's obvious that Bovada uses many different outsourced companies to run their business. When your main revenue stream is based on incoming deposits, there should never be a 3 day period where those deposits stop. So, either the company they were using to handle those transactions shut down or jumped ship. Which left Bovada scrambling to find a replacement. And it's also obvious that the people that do work for Bovada are in multiple locations. I say that because the responses from the forum moderators are somewhat different from the replies you get when chatting with a customer service rep in live chat. No one is rarely on the same page. And in some instances, the service reps have no idea there is even a problem until hours or days later. I'll continue to use Bovada but mainly because currently it's the only decent option I have for the state I live in. Thankfully, my state passed an online gambling bill this past election & were scheduled to get legitimate online gaming sites up and running this summer.
My bovada account was hacked and I saw my funds draining in real ti.efrom. a slot i was.t playing. I had my account shut down and put under review only for them to say my funds are gone and nothing they could do, and I'm a hall of fame member and they didn't care. Do not use Bovada!!! Bookmaker, mybookie any other platform is legit, bovada is not. They will steal your funds if above 2500 dollars. Please pass on.
You can use matchpay on Bovada and get your $$ in minutes. Matchpay is a platform that has buyers that will send you $$ by Apple Pay. Zelle, chime, etc.. Bovada has always taken care of me and definitely by far one of the best online sports/ slots casinos that pay. Crown Casino is the best Social Casino and you get paid the next day. FLIFF AND REBET CASINOS are the best online sports, props and slot casino. Do not play at any casino they doesn’t verify you in a day. Shouldn’t take 2/3 days. Chumba casino sucks I hit them for a 1,000 3-5 years ago one two more rtimes over 200.00 and never paid me and YAY CASINO DO NOT PLAY AT THAT SCAM CASINO. I hit then for over a 180.00.-400.00 never got paid . Damn casinos make so much $$ they should be happy when people win cause trust me NOBODY WINS IN THE GAMBLING BUSINESS ONLY IF YIUR SMART, take whatever you win at q casino and cash out? But we live in an Evil world full of Greed. Play at casinos that are verified and you can reach out to or talk too. If I had to say what I really wanted to say it be very ugly. Bovada, FLIFF, REBET, SPORTSMILLIONS, DABBLE, PULSE, and a few others only places I know that pays . Really loving FLIFF , THRILLS AND REBET CASINO-my favorite sport betttinh casino I’ve won and got paid right away. Last week hit a 2cent slot for 30.00 not bad -2cents…
I’be been waiting 4 days but the withdraw button has been removed by Bovada. Scam sportsbook.
Very sorry to hear that, Josh. Please keep me posted. devin.oconnor@casino.org
