Is Spinight Casino worth your while? Here are my thoughts

Ramona Depares

Ramona Depares, Content Writer

Spinight casino is part of the Liernin Enterprise group, which operates several online casinos, so I was curious to find out whether it follows the same formula as its sister sites which offer huge game libraries.

It didn’t disappoint with close to 13,000 games, live cash back for all players, and a lucrative cashback system for those who reach the upper three levels of the VIP plan.

During the weeks I tested the site, I didn’t manage to hit the VIP cashback level. But I did qualify for a live cashback as soon as I made a second deposit. Receiving 25% back of what I’d lost on the live dealer tables was a pretty sweet deal.

Here’s everything I discovered while researching this Spinight casino review, from payment options to customer support efficiency, security and more.

❤️ This is where Spinight casino is killing it

  • The number of games available is spectacular. Typically, 8,000 to 9,000 is the highest industry standard, but I have now increased my expectations
  • The large number of free spins I received upon sign-up was a huge incentive. 200 falls within the highest end of the spectrum, considering that many casinos offer between 50 and 150
  • It’s also good to see cryptocurrencies being taken seriously. Not enough sites include cryptos, and those that do typically limit the options to three
  • The 25% live cashback for all returning players is a strong advantage, as live casino bonuses are uncommon. Moreover, most sites only offer 5%–10% cashback to non VIP players

❤️‍🩹 And here’s what could be improved

  • Like some of its sister sites, Spinight Casino doesn’t include any licensing or ownership information on the homepage. For transparency, it’s an accepted industry standard that this information should be included before the footer
  • Responsible gambling tools are limited to self-exclusion. Many casinos nowadays give players the option to implement limits on losses, deposits, and even time spent playing

Bonuses and welcome offer: Up to NZ$1,000 with low 35x wagering requirements

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

Spinight casino compares very well to the welcome bonus offers at other NZ online casinos, both for the NZ$1,000 bonus cash and the 200 free spins. I have found sites that exceed this, such as Big Boost’s NZ$3,000 + 300 free spins, but these are few and far between.

Bonus rating

4.0

❤️ The juiciest bonus highlights

  • NZ$1,000 in bonus cash upon sign-up is a solid amount, placing Spinight casino among the top NZ welcome bonus providers
  • The majority of pokies and instant games contribute 100% to wagering requirements, which meant I could use the bonus cash on approximately 12,000 games
  • Live dealers and table games contribute 10% to bonus wagering. This is more generous than the typical 0% to 5% at most casinos
  • The loyalty cashback gave me an excellent incentive to stay at the casino. They come with 1x wagering, making them extremely accessible to all players

❤️‍🩹 What I thought could be improved

  • I found the minimum deposit requirement of NZ$40 to activate the welcome bonus too high. Most sites don’t require more than NZ$20.
  • It’s annoying not to be told upfront which slots are eligible for the free spins. The norm is to list these in the T&Cs.

The 35x wagering requirements on bonus cash are also low by usual standards; it’s a pity that they go up to 40x for the free spins. Big Boost keeps a uniform 35x for both, which I find more generous.

My key takeaways from the bonus

All in all, the Spinight welcome bonus is extremely solid. The amount is generous, and the wagering requirements are are reasonable.

However, I still dislike being asked for a first deposit of NZ$40, as this represents a substantial chunk of my bankroll. Wheelz casino offers a sign-up package of NZ$5,000 and 100 free spins, and I only need to deposit NZ$10 to qualify.

I’m also over casinos where Neteller and Skrill deposits are excluded from the bonus. Kiwi’s Treasure doesn’t make this mistake, so if you want to use these methods and get the bonus, hop over there.

Besides that, the 10-day rollover term is well within industry standards, as many casinos only offer seven days. I was allowed a maximum bet of NZ$10 using the bonus. Placing a cap on bonus bets is normal; many even go lower with NZ$5.

Bonuses to look forward to when playing at Spinight Casino

Finding a good casino is one of life’s pleasures, so I like an incentive to stay there even after my first deposit runs out. Spinight casino isn’t one of those sites that give you an offer a day, like Let’s Lucky. But what it does offer is quite lucrative:

  • For all returning players, there will be 25% live cashback up to NZ$400. You have to request the bonus via live chat or email by the following Monday.
  • 15% weekly cashback up to NZ$6,000 – this is only available for players in the top 3 VIP levels. It comes with a 1x wagering requirement, and you need to opt in every four weeks.
  • Regular tournaments: I enjoyed both the Ela Games software developer tournament and in-house leaderboards like the Monthly Races and Slot of the Week promotions.
My tip: Opt in for cashbackDon’t miss out on loyalty offers by forgetting to opt in. Both cashback offers require this, and it’s very easy to forget that the VIP cashback opt-in must be renewed after four weeks. Do what I do and set a reminder.

Game library – Beautifully categorised lobby with 12,000+ titles

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

Confession: I get bored very easily. This means that sites with a modest library, like Merkur’s 500-ish, won’t keep me there for long. I want the ability to constantly flit between games and even categories, and Spinight delivers in a big way on this.

Games rating

4.8

❤️ Best parts about the games

  • Around 12,000 pokies from 108 software providers
  • An ‘Exclusive’ section of pokies numbering 120 that you won’t find at other sites
  • Reputable, audited software providers authenticate all games, so you can be assured of a fair RTP (95.5% - 97.8%)
  • A variety of categories, including novel types like crash games, with Spribe’s Aviator and Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Crash
  • A superb selection of 600 jackpot titles

❤️‍🩹 What could be improved

  • Adding the current prize pool to the jackpot thumbnails would make them more attractive. LeoVegas is a good example to follow.
  • Some more Dice options in the live dealer section wouldn’t go amiss. Currently, there are only two games squashed in with baccarat

The number of games from all my favourite software providers, combined with a good showing in terms of live dealer and table games, is exactly what I'm looking for. I’m sure many players will feel exactly the same.

Give the games a spin for free

I always use the demo option before making a deposit. It helps me get a feel for the site so I can see if it’s worth my cash. Spinight casino makes everything available for free play except for live dealer tables (which is the norm).

You can also play 19,000+ of the most popular casino games for free at Casino.org, so if you want to get some practice in too, start playing below:

The best software providers are all here

I’m used to finding between 20 and 50 software providers on average at top online casinos in New Zealand. Here, we’ve got 108, which means I had absolutely no issue finding the names I usually look for. They're all present from the big leagues like Microgaming to the pokie specialists like NoLimit City.

I enjoy searching by provider when I’m in the mood for a specific game style, so Spinight's prominent "Providers" category on the main menu was really useful for me. If you know exactly what you’re after just click on the search icon at the left of the menu and it’ll take you straight there.

Live casino: 300 tables hosted by Evolution & Ezugi

I really enjoyed playing this section of Spinight casino games, as it includes a comprehensive offering. I found a good mix of classic games like roulette, blackjack, poker, and baccarat and game shows like Sweet Bonanza Candyland and Snakes & Ladders Live.

I was also impressed to find no less than 28 Sic Bo and Andar Bahar tables. This is on par with bigger and longer-established brands like Betway.

Tip: Don’t play table games with your welcome bonusEven if you’re keen on trying out Spinight range of table games, avoid doing so until you’ve played through your welcome bonus cash. These games only contribute 10% to the wagering requirements, so you won’t be getting the maximum value out of your bonus.

Payment methods – 20 options, including nine cryptos

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

I was pleased to see Spinight follow the lead of its sister site, Legiano, by going all out on cryptocurrencies, offering way more than the standard two to three crypto options most sites offer. Credit cards, e-vouchers, and prepaid methods are also available if you're after traditional payments.

Payment rating

4.5

❤️ The high points

  • 9 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum. The industry average is between two and three
  • There are ample prepaid voucher options, like CashtoCode and Paysafecard for players who prefer not to use their bank accounts
  • Deposits are processed extremely fast. The money appeared in the casino account a few seconds after I clicked ‘deposit’ so I could start playing immediately
  • High deposit limits for high-rollers, with cryptos and e-wallets going up to NZ$10,000

❤️‍🩹 The so-so bits

  • All payment options require minimum deposits of NZ$20. However, more budget-friendly sites like Spin Casino let you start playing with as little as NZ$1
  • No MasterCard withdrawals are available, so you’ll need to choose another withdrawal method. I prefer sites that allow you to cash out in the same way you deposited

The payment options are very New Zealand-friendly, with Jeton, CashtoCode, and Neosurf included. It’s a shame that PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay aren’t available, though.

In truth, very few sites in New Zealand offer these types of payments, although I did find that Jackpot City accepts PayPal.

How to deposit in 5 steps

The deposit process at Spinight is beautifully straightforward and fast:

  1. 1
Sign up – Register or log in to your account at Spinight casino
  2. 2
Go to the cashier – Click on the coins symbol at the top of the page
  3. 3
Find your deposit method – Use the drop-down menu to find your chosen deposit method
  4. 4
Choose the amount – Enter the amount you want to deposit
  5. 5
Verify – Verify your deposit and start playing

Timeframes, limits, and fees

The minimum deposit at Spinight casino starts at NZ$20 but be aware that this won’t make you eligible for the welcome bonus. To claim it, you’ll need to put in NZ$40. Both amounts are on the higher end, given that the industry average is NZ$10 - NZ$20.

All deposit methods, including credit cards, are instant, so I could start playing real money games immediately. The fastest cashouts available are e-wallets and cryptocurrencies, taking between one and three days. I received my crypto cashout in a few hours, so the timings err on the generous side.

How safe is Spinight, and do they have a license?

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

Spinight casino is licensed by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). I only know this because I did extensive research. A regular player may find it difficult to find this information, as the casino has decided not to reproduce it on the landing page, as is customary.

Security rating

2.5

❤️ Where they did well

  • The casino operates with a PAGCOR license. While not as renowned as the Malta Gaming Authority or the UK Gambling Commission, this guarantees a solid level of player protection
  • Self-exclusion is available and will be implemented within 24 hours of the request being sent. If you feel you need to take a step back, don’t hesitate to do so
  • There are links to gambling support agencies like GamCare and BeGambleAware should you need to reach out to professionals for help

❤️‍🩹 Where they can improve

  • I would expect more responsible gambling tools to be implemented as the site finds its way. Deposit, loss, and betting limits are a minimum industry standard nowadays
  • Better transparency is needed regarding licensing information. Sites like Shotz list the license number, so I can check it myself

I was equally unimpressed with the responsible gambling tools. Again, the situation is the same as that of the sister casino, Legiano. I can ask for self-exclusion via email, and that’s pretty much it. Not cool. There’s a lot to learn from the likes of Guts casino here, which offers an entire spectrum of tools like bet and loss limits.

A work in progress…

Being very new, I didn’t expect Spinight to have won any awards for safety or the general gambling experience. It’s still very early days, but the foundations for a good safety track record are there. Adding some information on licencing and game fairness audits for players to see would be a big step.

How does Spinight casino fare on mobile?

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

Like the vast majority of new NZ casinos, Spinight does not have a dedicated app. This didn’t stop me from playing on my phone, as the HTML5 technology means that all 12,000 or so games are accessible on modern smartphones and tablets. The casino works equally well using 4G or 5G, and there’s no need for a special connection to play the games. The average internet or data package is enough.

Mobile rating

4.0

❤️ Mobile highlights

  • I was thrilled to be able to access more than 12,000 games on my phone. This is a vastly larger selection than usual, and it's fantastic that all games are accessible
  • The mobile layout is clean and fuss-free, so locating the menus and the games I was after was easy. This was true even when I was using a Google Pixel 8a with a very small screen
  • All the games loaded very fast, in under three seconds. This is on the lowest end of the industry average, as I’ve played at many casinos that took five seconds or more
  • The mobile site syncs with the desktop site, so I enjoyed the latest games

❤️‍🩹 What could be improved

  • The lack of a mobile app may annoy players who like to have everything easily accessible without the need to log in with a password
  • Switching from portrait to landscape is a bit glitchy, and sometimes the games lagged

Will I use Spinight on my mobile again?

For sure. As I said, the only difference the lack of an app makes is for those who want to use facial or touch recognition to log in. Besides that, I found no disadvantages in playing with the regular mobile browser.

I tested the casino on three devices: an iPad, my regular iPhone 16, and a Google Pixel 8a. The experience was smooth every time, with the only hitches being switching from landscape to portrait. Then again, few sites handle that perfectly mid-game.

How to make the most of mobile playIt’s best to use Google Chrome when using your phone or tablet. The experience on Safari isn’t as great. This is true of most casino games, as Chrome is optimised for faster speeds and better resource allocations, which means games look and perform better.

Customer support: A lesson for other casinos

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

Spinight offers two methods to contact customer support: 24/7 live chat or an email option. I always prefer to use the live chat options, as they allow me to follow up immediately if I have more than one question.

Support rating

4.5

❤️ What I loved

  • Very polite and ‘human’ customer support agent who took the time to understand my concerns about licensing
  • The reply took under five minutes, and the agent wasn’t rushing to get rid of me despite my unusual query
  • The excellent Help Centre provided all the important information about payments and bonuses, reducing my need to contact customer support
  • Thanks to automatic translation services, live chat is available 24 hours a day in practically any language

❤️‍🩹 What could be better

  • The live chat icon is a bit misleading, as it first redirects you to the Help Center. It would be better to be able to access the chat directly and immediately, like at WinMaker, for instance
  • Email replies take more than a day to be delivered

For the purposes of this Spinight review, I used both email and live chat, and both times, I received courteous replies that were accurate and didn’t create the need for follow-up questions – just the way I like it. This level is on par with bigger brands like Rizk.

Good showing on both live chat and email

I love it when customer support agents go out of their way to help. And the one I lucked upon at Spinight certainly did, despite my first question being a tough one about licensing transparency. I also asked my colleagues to test out the service, and these were the results:

Live chat4 minutes
Email32 hours
Web formn/a
Social Median/a

Unsurprisingly, live chat is the most efficient way of getting in touch, with replies coming within three to six minutes at various hours of the day. Emails took longer than a day every time, so if you want to get back to your gaming fast, I certainly suggest that you open that chat box.

Site usability and user experience

Ramona Depares
Ramona's take

The journey from registration to playing is just as important as the bonuses and the games. I look for a speedy registration process to make things as convenient as possible, and this is exactly what I got at Spinight casino. It took just two minutes in total to complete my registration and I could get to the fun part straight away.

❤️ The high points of my user journey

  • I appreciated the simple yet highly effective game menus. Thanks to the excellent UX, I found everything very easily and enjoyed the scrolling process
  • My registration was pain-free. I used my desktop, and I seriously doubt it took even a minute
  • When it was time for me to verify my documents, it took less than two days, which is extremely efficient considering the standard is two to four days
  • I enjoyed being offered a pokie of the month to discover and will probably look forward to this regularly

❤️‍🩹 What could be improved

  • Rather strangely, pokies are listed almost last on the top menu. It doesn’t make a huge difference to me, but it will probably confuse some players
  • Live chat doesn’t open immediately but takes you to the help centre first

The site’s functionality is excellent – I used all the game menus and filtering options to the fullest and never once had to sigh in frustration waiting for the site to source the game I wanted.

How to register at Spinight

Registration is super quick, and I was only asked for basic personal information. At this stage, I didn’t need to provide any verification documents. To register, follow the simple steps below:

A smooth journey from start to finish

I’ve been to plenty of casinos where the experience starts off like a walk in the park, and then things descend into chaos the longer I stay. I faced no such issues at Spinight. Everything functioned optimally, from depositing to joining live dealer tables, verifying my identity, and getting paid in two days.

My verdict on Spinight casino: an all-round excellent experience

4.1/5
Ramona Depares

From when I opted into the bonus to my eventual cash out, my experience at Spinight was excellent. I can rarely say this about any site. It’s clear that the site's owners know what players look for: a solid bonus, a strong selection of games, and an easy payment process. It’s all right there at Spinight.

My major complaint is the steep qualifying deposit for the bonus. I hope they’ll reconsider this to make this delightful casino more accessible to everyone. And I hope they don’t forget to plonk that license logo on their landing page, too. As soon as these two elements are fixed, my rating for this casino will shoot up.

More about Spinight

Spinight casino is one of a collection of very new casinos that are making their mark with generous bonuses and a larger-than-average game selection. While it’s too early to state how the site will impact the New Zealand casino industry, all signs point to it already having gained popularity with players.
