Where to Play Blackjack in Red Dead Redemption 2 (All Locations + Requirements)
Summarize this post
RDR2 Blackjack Locations: Key Takeaways
- There are four ways to play blackjack in RDR2: three fixed tables in Rhodes, Van Horn, and Blackwater, plus occasional, random games at the Van der Linde camp.
- Rhodes is the earliest and most reliable blackjack spot: the table is upstairs in the Rhodes Parlour House, typically around a $4 buy-in, and it’s a key location for Gambler Challenge 6.
- Van Horn is the other must-visit for Gambler 6: you’ll find the table in the back area of the Old Light Saloon at the Van Horn Trading Post, usually around a $3 buy-in.
- Blackwater blackjack is locked behind story progression and risk: the saloon table is on Main Street, often around a $5 buy-in, but you can’t realistically access it early due to hostility/high bounties.
- Camp blackjack is unpredictable and not challenge-relevant: it can spawn during downtime (often evenings), but it’s not guaranteed and doesn’t count toward the gambler challenges, so it’s best treated as a bonus game.
There are only a handful of blackjack tables in Red Dead Redemption 2, but not all of them are available right away. Below is the full list of locations, where to find each table inside the venue, typical stakes, and what you need to unlock them.
Blackjack Locations in RDR2 (At a Glance)
| Town/Area | Venue | Where Inside | Buy-in/Stakes | Availability/Requirements |
| Rhodes | Rhodes Parlour House | Upstairs in the Saloon | $4 | Available from when Rhodes is unlocked in Chapter 2/location for Gambler Challenge 6 |
| Van Horn Trading Post | Old Light Saloon | Back area in the saloon | $3 | Available once you access Van Horn in story mode/location for Gambler Challenge 6 |
| Blackwater | Saloon on Main Street | Blackjack table in the saloon | $5 | Available once you get access to Blackwater/without hostile bounties on you |
| Gang Camp | Van der Linde Camp | Occasional blackjack games | Informal with gang members | Not always available, but appears during some gang interactions |
Rhodes Blackjack Table Location
Rhodes is probably the most consistent of the RDR2 blackjack locations because it is accessible relatively early in the game. You’ll be able to enter games in the Rhodes Parlour House, which is the town’s saloon found in Scarlett Meadows in Lemoyne. Just ride into Rhodes and head to the southern part of the town, and find the saloon on the main street.
Blackjack in Rhodes in RDR2 is on the second floor of the parlour house and usually has NPCs gathering around the table. It looks and feels like a classic Wild West saloon, setting a nice vibe with patrons and interactions. The game doesn’t show buy-in costs on the map, but you’ll need to put down around $4. However, the stakes can vary on different playthroughs.
This is a good place for casual blackjack in Red Dead Redemption 2, but it also helps you complete the Gambler Challenge 6 achievement.

Van Horn Blackjack Table Location
Another of the standard RDR2 blackjack locations is in the Van Horn Trading Post, which you can find inside the Old Light Saloon. Head to the rundown center of town in New Hanover, and the saloon sits in a dilapidated state. Despite the rough vibes, you’ll still be able to play Van Horn blackjack in RDR2 and buy drinks.
Once you’re inside the Old Light Saloon, take Arthur around towards the back of the room where the blackjack table sits. There is no fixed buy-in on the map, but the amount should be around $3. It is also one of the Gambler 6 locations in RDR2. The mechanics work the same as other blackjack tables in RDR2, where you just need to sit and ante up to start playing.
Blackwater Blackjack Table Location (When It Unlocks)
Blackwater blackjack in RDR2 is tied to story progression and only becomes available when you unlock Blackwater in the game. You can find it on the Main Street of the town, but remember, Blackwater is hostile with high bounties and gangs, so trying to access the saloon sooner is impossible. Card games in Blackwater use the same mechanics as in other locations, with variable buy-ins that are usually around $5.
Can You Play Blackjack at Camp?
One of the lesser-known RDR2 blackjack locations is in the Gang’s Camp, where it sometimes appears as one of the mini games. But the spawn for blackjack is unpredictable, so it is not always available. This is not a fixed table, but it does show up randomly during interactions with other gang members.
We recommend checking the camp during downtime between missions or during the evenings. This is when there are more NPCs around for activities. If you don’t see the blackjack table, leave the camp and come back later. It is worth noting that camp blackjack does not count towards any gambler challenges.

Blackjack Rules (Very Quick Refresher)
A Red Dead Redemption 2 blackjack table works the same as traditional blackjack that you’ll play in any land-based casino or online casino site, complete with the same rules and blackjack odds. The goal is always to get a hand that totals as close to 21 as possible without going over (or busting), while also beating the total of the dealer. In normal blackjack, the dealer must hit until they reach 17, but you have the option to hit (take another card), stand (stick with your current hand), double down your bet, or split pairs.
Tips to Win (and Finish Gambler Challenges Faster)
To have better winning chances at RDR2 blackjack locations, keep to normal blackjack gameplay. Hit on low totals of 11 or under, stand on strong hands like 17–20, and be cautious with borderline hands to avoid busting. When the double down option is open, use it if you have cards that you think can beat the dealer. Use smaller buy-ins to spread your bankroll and avoid costly losing streaks.
If you’re playing for the Gambler Challenge 6, you need to beat the dealer at Rhodes Parlous House and Van Horn Trading Post. But most importantly, you should always gamble responsibly.
RDR2 Blackjack FAQs
The blackjack game in Rhodes is found in the town’s Parlour House saloon, which is in the southern part of town. You’ll find the table upstairs on the second floor with a dealer standing there.
Blackjack at Van Horn is available in the main game, from Chapter 2, any time on the main map. It is located in the Old Light Saloon, where you can find the table towards the back of the room. The saloon must be open to access the game.
Blackjack in Blackwater relies on story progression to unlock, and you’ll only be able to play blackjack there once you open the town. It is possible to visit Blackwater earlier, but gang activity and bounties make it impossible to stay for long or access the saloon.
The four RDR2 blackjack locations are in Rhodes, Van Horn Trading Post, and Blackwater, while there are occasional games available in the Gang Camp.
The Gambler Challenge 6 achievement requires players to beat the dealer in Rhodes and Van Horn, but not in Blackwater or Gang Camp games.
