Online slots using the likeness of Whitney Houston have debuted in select markets where internet casinos are allowed.

It’s been 13 years since Houston’s shocking death at the age of just 48. “The Voice,” however, as she was affectionately known, continues to entertain and dazzle fans on casino floors across the United States.
In October 2023, IGT (International Game Technology) struck a deal with the Estate of Whitney E. Houston and Primary Wave Music, which owns the music publishing rights to her catalog, to develop slot machines using the legend’s likeness.
Whitney Houston Slots debuted in person at the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in San Manuel, Calif., last June. The wide-area progressives (WAPs) have since been deployed to dozens of casino floors from the Las Vegas Strip to Atlantic City and overseas markets.
IGT is now taking Whitney Houston Slots online. The London-based gaming firm tells Casino.org that it recently launched the slots game based on the six-time Grammy-winning megastar in eight iGaming markets.

In the US, iGaming, or online casinos with slot machines and table games, is legal in only seven states. In Europe, most countries permit such internet gambling.
IGT has included Whitney Houston Slots into its iGaming operations in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Greece, Sweden, and Romania.
IGT’s Whitney Houston Slots is a dynamic, strong-performing game that has proven to captivate slot players and music fans alike in many casinos,” said Gil Rotem, IGT PlayDigital president. “Launching the Whitney Houston Slots game in an online format extends the reach of this phenomenal theme.”
IGT explained that it hopes to introduce Whitney Houston Slots to iGaming markets in North America “later this year.”
The seven iGaming US jurisdictions are Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. The odds are long any other state will join those seven anytime soon.
Slot machines remain the driving force of the US gaming industry. Last year, slots accounted for almost $31.1 billion of the $49.8 billion that commercial casinos generated in gross gaming revenue. iGaming GGR hit a record $8.4 billion, with online slots responsible for the bulk of the revenue.
YouTuber Vegas Matt, who has over one million subscribers, says slots still resonate because it gives gamblers a chance of winning big.
“Every time you push the button, you have a chance to win a massive reward,” Vegas Matt said in a recent video.
Legacy Slots
IGT’s Whitney Houston Slots includes four jackpot levels with iconic photos, videos, and music of the singer. The game includes several of her chart-topping hits, including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “How Will I Know,” and “Greatest Love of All.”
IGT and its competitors have long used the name, image, and likeness of celebrities to brand and market their slot terminals. Other entertainers to have starred in slot games include Britney Spears, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Snoop Dogg, Ellen DeGeneres, Hulk Hogan, and Paris Hilton.
Many others have used the likeness of stars who have died. A few notable games, along with Whitney Houston, to have their faces spun on slot reels are Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis.
