VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Sammy Hagar Parks it at Park MGM, New Edition’s Additions, Tyler Childers

Sammy Hagar will perform a residency at Park MGM’s Dolby Live in April and May, he announced on Monday.

Hagar’s “The Best of All Worlds Tour” will be Vegas residency No. 11 for the former Van Halen frontman. It follows jaunts at the STRAT in 2021, MGM Grand in 2019, Mandalay Bay in 2002, 2008, and 2015, and the House of Blues in 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2002, and 2012.

The lineup for this outing, which will focus heavily on Hagar’s 10-year Van Halen tenure, will include his fellow former VH bandmate Michael Anthony on bass, Kenny Aronoff replacing Hagar’s longtime drummer, Jason Bonham, and Joe Satriani in the unenviable position of performing Eddie Van Halen’s mind-blowing guitar parts.

I’m so looking forward to this residency and being able to stay in one place so we can get the sound and production completely dialed in,” Hagar, 77, said in a statement. “It also allows the band to experiment with the setlist every night – that’s why it’s going to be exclusive to Las Vegas.”

The shows will take place April 30 and May 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, November 22, via ticketmaster.com/SammyHagarVegas.

Hagar will also play the halftime show at Sunday’s Raiders-Broncos game at Allegiant Stadium, as he did for a Raiders-Bengals game in November 2021.

New Edition will extend its residency at Wynn’s Encore Theater, the R&B group announced on Monday. “New Edition: Las Vegas” will return to the venue for six more shows on February 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, and 22.

“Performing for our fans in Las Vegas over this past year has been a dream,” the group said in a joint statement. “Encore Theater’s intimate size allows us to feel a personal connection with our audience members and fans night after night, making each performance more special than the next.”

The group’s first 15 performances at the Encore, which began last February, were all sellouts.

Tickets for the new shows go on sale at 10 a.m. PT Friday, November 22 via the Wynn Las Vegas website.

Childers’ Play

Country crooner Tyler Childers will perform on June 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tickets go on sale here at 10 a.m. PT, Friday, November 22, with an artist presale starting at 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, November 19.
