VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Jeezy Cancels on Vegas for Better Offer, Looks Like Barry Almost Didn’t Make it

Jeezy was scheduled to perform at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Sunday night. Instead, he canceled the concert — part of his “Legend of the Snowman” residency — just hours before showtime.

The hip-hop star wasn’t feeling under the weather, however. He just suddenly received a better offer in New York.

Jay-Z sent up the bat signal for his previous collaborators to join him on his third and final “Extra Innings” show at Yankee Stadium. But while the New York audience went crazy for Jeezy’s presence on the songs “Seen It All” and “Go Crazy,” jilted Las Vegas fans went a different kind of crazy about the news.

“I’m sorry but Jeezy canceled his own RESIDENCY SHOW after people flew in from everywhere, made all types of sacrifices to feature/be seen at Jay show?” commented @Lor_Bangy on X.

Other music luminaries who flocked to Jay-Z’s stage were Rihanna, Pharrell, Usher, Clipse, Swizz Beatz, Teyana Taylor, Jermaine Dupri, and, of course, Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé.

But while all of them likely canceled plans in order to attend, none of those plans was a contracted concert performance.

Ticketmaster announced it would issue automatic refunds at point of purchase.

Barry Manilow resumed his full schedule at the Westgate on Thursday, July 9. But for a while, that was only a pipe dream.

In April, while recovering from cancer surgery to remove half a left lung last Christmas, the veteran singer got his band together for rehearsals.

“I thought, ‘Well, maybe I can do it,’ so I had the whole band and everything,” Manilow told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I started to sing, and everybody started to look at the floor because it didn’t even sound like me … I couldn’t get past two songs without being out of breath.

“I felt like that part of my career was going to be gone.”
