VEGAS MUSIC NEWS: Chris Brown & Usher into Allegiant, Sphere’s Surprise Chesney Replacement

R&B heavyweights Usher and Chris Brown revealed plans on Tuesday, April 14, for a joint stadium tour, featuring a two-night stop in Las Vegas on September 5 and 6.

For Usher, the dates mark his first Allegiant Stadium appearance since headlining the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show in 2024, a performance that helped propel his “Past, Present, Future” tour into one of the year’s top‑grossing runs.

By the end of 2024, the North American leg alone had sold more than 1.1 million tickets across 62 sold‑out shows.

Brown arrives fresh off his own blockbuster run: the “Breezy Bowl XX World Tour,” which wrapped in October with nearly $300 million in global grosses.

Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning 12 noon PT Tuesday, April 21 and running through Wednesday, April 22 at 10 p.m. Additional presales will roll out throughout the week before the general on‑sale at 12 noon Monday, April 27 via Ticketmaster.

Electronic‑music superstar and Illenium has booked country crooner Kenny Chesney’s vacated holiday Sphere slots.

“Illenium Presents Odyssey” will return to the globular wonder July 3-4, after Chesney pulled out of his Independence Day weekend shows last week, citing a desire to spend the holiday with friends and family. (His other Sphere dates — June 19, 20, 24, 26, 27 and July 1, 8, 10, 11 — remain on the schedule.)

Illenium is one of Sphere’s most distinctive non‑legacy bookings, having wrapped his production after nine dates on April 4. He was also the first artist to headline a concert at Allegiant Stadium in June 2021.

Tickets to Illenium at the Sphere go on sale April 24 via Ticketmaster and Illenium.com.
