‘Top Gun’ Attraction to Land South of Vegas Strip

A Top Gun‑themed attraction presumed dead is officially back in play at a new Las Vegas location and a fresh round of commitments from the developers. The project, led by Advent Allen Entertainment in partnership with Paramount, has secured a 2.5‑acre parcel at 4815 South Las Vegas Boulevard, just south of the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.”

Clark County property records confirm the land — between the Little Church of the West and the Pinball Hall of Fame — sold recently for $12.5 million.

According to an announcement made on Tuesday (July 21), visitors will embark on a “pulse‑pounding mission” using advanced flight simulators and immersive ride systems developed with Simtec Systems, a German manufacturer known for high‑end motion‑based attractions.

Plans also call for a full recreation of the Hard Deck bar and restaurant featured in Top Gun: Maverick.

Course Correction

The attraction was first announced in May 2025, pitched as a done deal for undeveloped land near the Strat with an opening date of summer 2028. When ground failed to break as 2025 passed into 2026, most industry observers wrote the project off.

However, not unlike Tom Cruise in every Tom Cruise action movie, the project managed to return from almost certain death.

Mark Advent, founder of Advent Allen Entertainment, said the new Vegas site is “exactly where Top Gun belongs.” He added that it “creates a powerful sense of place where the excitement of aviation, the spirit of Top Gun, and the energy of Las Vegas come together in a way that is powerful.”

As a newly formed company, Advent Allen has no track record of building themed attractions. However, Mark Advent is best known as the creative force behind the New York‑New York Hotel & Casino.

Far From Takeoff

The developers have yet to release a new construction timeline, and the project must still finalize architectural plans, secure contractors, and navigate Clark County’s permitting process before any ground is broken.

Large‑scale attractions in Las Vegas routinely take several years to move from concept to construction.
