According to TMZ, the decision was reached after the HGTV personality successfully completed “impulse control counseling” and stayed out of trouble.

Witnesses told police that a stranger bumped into a chair occupied by El Moussa’s 77-year-old father at a roulette table. El Moussa was in town to deliver the keynote speech at the annual JCK jewelry convention at the Venetian. He was accompanied by his wife, Heather Rae Young, and their parents and children.

According to TMZ, Tarek’s dad stared the stranger down before returning to his game, upon which the man “patted Tarek’s dad on his right shoulder and said something to him, sparking the violent confrontation.”

Police said El Moussa charged at the man, pushing him back. When the man grabbed for El Moussa’s  knees, trying to take him down, El Moussa kneed him in the head, then mounted his back and delivered three blows to his head, rendering him unconscious.

The victim reportedly refused medical attention and El Moussa was not taken into custody.

“We are very pleased that the case against Tarek was completely dismissed,” Tarek’s attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, told TMZ.

El Moussa and Haack also co-hosted the HGTV reality series “Flip or Flop” from 2013 to 2022 — even after they separated in May 2016 and divorced in 2018.
