PokerStars Founder Mark Scheinberg Selling $152.5M Mega-Yacht Synthesis

PokerStars founder Mark Scheinberg is selling his yacht, complete with helipad, beauty salon, sauna, beach club, gym, deck Jacuzzi, and infinity pool.

The vessel, Synthesis, is described by Auto Evolution as “one of the most spectacular and painfully expensive mega-yachts to hit the market” and will set you back $152.5 million, with running costs of about $10 million a year.

Scheinberg, 52, took delivery of the 242-foot Synthesis from famed Dutch super-yacht assembler Amels in 2021. The yacht can accommodate 14 guests across six cabins, as well as a 19-person crew.

Rise of a Poker Giant

The Canadian started PokerStars with his father, Isai Scheinberg, in 2001 before building it into the biggest online poker site in the world. The business was sold to Amaya Gaming in 2014 for $4.9 billion and is now owned by Flutter Entertainment.

Scheinberg then became an investor in the real estate and leisure industries, acquiring a 50% stake in Centro Canalejas, a high-end commercial, hotel, and residential complex in Madrid. He also owns the One Hotel in Toronto and has an estimated net worth of $5 billion.

No word on whether Scheinberg is looking for an upgrade on Synthesis, although several gaming tycoons have recently acquired bigger yachts – and to billionaires, size does matter.  

Who’s Got the Biggest Yacht?

Crown Resorts tycoon James Packer’s yacht is so big that it’s actually designated a “giga-yacht,” which is one better than a mega-yacht and two full notches up on a super-yacht, according to unofficial yacht rankings.

The vessel, named “IJE” after the initials of Packer’s three children, Indigo, Jackson, and Emmanuelle, is one of the biggest private boats in the world, with a huge heated swimming pool, a cinema, a nightclub accessible via an elevator, a barber’s shop, and a vast lower deck gym.

But as of May 2026, the monstrous IJE is not the biggest yacht owned by a gaming billionaire. That prize goes to Tilman Fertitta, owner of Landry’s, The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casinos, and the Houston Rockets, and current US ambassador to Italy.

Fertitta took ownership of the 384-foot giga-yacht, Lurssen Boardwalk earlier this year, trading in his previous model, a 252-foot mega-yacht, also named Boardwalk.

Along with the obligatory infinity pool, gym, Jacuzzi, etc., the new vessel has two helipads – because when you reach a certain level of wealth, one helipad on your yacht is just embarrassing.
