PokerStars Founder Puts His $152.5M Superyacht on the Market

PokerStars co-founder Mark Scheinberg is selling his $152.5 million superyacht—a floating mansion outfitted with its own helipad, infinity pool, and private beach club.

The vessel, Synthesis, is described by Autoevolution as “one of the most spectacular and painfully expensive mega-yachts to hit the market” and will set you back $152.5 million, with annual running costs hovering around $10 million.

Scheinberg, 52, took delivery of the 242-foot Synthesis from famed Dutch super-yacht builder Amels in 2021. The yacht can accommodate 14 guests across six cabins, alongside a 19-person crew.

Rise of a Poker Giant

The Canadian entrepreneur started PokerStars with his father, Isai Scheinberg, in 2001, building it into the largest online poker platform in the world. The business was sold to Amaya Gaming in 2014 for $4.9 billion and is now owned by Flutter Entertainment.

Scheinberg subsequently transitioned into real estate and luxury leisure investments, acquiring a 50% stake in Centro Canalejas—a high-end commercial, hotel, and residential complex in Madrid. He also owns the 1 Hotel Toronto and boasts an estimated net worth of $5 billion.

There is no word yet on whether Scheinberg is shopping for an upgrade to Synthesis, though several casino and gaming tycoons have recently acquired even larger vessels—proving once again that in the world of billionaire boating, size always matters.

Who’s Got the Biggest Yacht?

Crown Resorts tycoon James Packer’s vessel is so massive it carries the official designation of a “giga-yacht”—placing it a step above a mega-yacht and two tiers above a standard super-yacht, according to maritime rankings.

Named IJE after the initials of Packer’s three children (Indigo, Jackson, and Emmanuelle), the boat is among the largest private vessels in the world. It features a heated swimming pool, a full cinema, an elevator-accessible nightclub, a barber shop, and a vast lower-deck gym.

But IJE isn’t the biggest yacht owned by a gaming billionaire. That title belongs to Tilman Fertitta—owner of Landry’s, the Golden Nugget resort empire, the Houston Rockets, and current U.S. Ambassador to Italy.

Fertitta took delivery of the monstrous 384-foot Lürssen giga-yacht Boardwalk, trading in his previous 252-foot model of the same name.

Along with the standard infinity pool, gym, and Jacuzzi, Fertitta’s floating palace boasts dual helipads, a private movie theater, and a dedicated garage for amphibious tenders.
