The blockbuster NFL trade this afternoon that saw two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams has had big impacts on Super Bowl betting lines, according to sportsbook traders.

Pro-Bowler Verse Heads to Browns
The Rams traded two-time Pro Bowl rusher Jared Verse and multiple draft picks to the Browns in exchange for Garrett.
Browns’ management had been adamant they were not going to trade Garrett, but ESPN reported this afternoon that the Rams never stopped persisting. Trade talk heated up after the NFL Draft in April. The Rams were originally offering just draft capital but the talks soon evolved into a package that featured Verse.
This was the kind of afternoon that keeps handicappers on their toes, said Johnny Avello, DraftKings Director of Race & Sports Operations.
Rams Super Bowl Betting Favourites
Wow, what a pick-up,” he said. “The Rams become a little bit bigger favourite now. They’re 6-to-1 to win it all, followed by the Bills. The Rams were already a good team and already had a good defence. Now you go and add this component to them. Just a huge acquisition.”
After the Rams, DraftKings has the Bills at +1000, Baltimore Ravens +1000, Seattle Seahawks +1100, the Kansas City Chiefs at +1500, the Philadelphia Eagles at +1600, and the New England Patriots at +1600.
“We’re not going to be playing a football game for a few months, so you have got to be aware of any news that breaks,” said Avello. “One bit of news can change the outcome, what prices should be on futures, everything we have up. We have up all the games for the year for the Rams, like total wins, everything that can happen for that team and every other team during the regular season. Those are all impacted by the news.”
Getting Ahead of the Sharps
At BetMGM, from this morning to now, the Rams went from +800 to +600, with the Seahawks shifting from +950 to +1000. The Rams are now +300 to win the NFC Championships. Highest ticket percentage is the Rams (7.9%), followed by the Bills (7.7%) and Broncos (7.2%). On the handle front, it’s the Rams on top (10.6%), followed by the Bills (9.3%) and the Broncos (8.1%).
And at Caesars Sportsbook, Rams’ Super Bowl odds went from +700 to +600, NFC Championship odds from +390 to +310, and the NFL Best Record odds went from +900 to +700.
“It’s important that we always keep our eyes and ears open and catch news before the general public or the sharps, who can then take advantage of soft odds that you may have,” said Avello.
