The Kansas City Chiefs (4-2) are favored by three points on the road against the Denver Broncos (2-4) in a critical AFC West divisional showdown.

The Broncos look to keep their momentum going, winning their last two games after beginning the year 0-4. They beat the division bottom-feeders, the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-13, and then followed up their first win of the year with a 16-0 shutout of the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.

The Chiefs are headed in the opposite direction, losing their previous two games at Arrowhead after beginning the season a perfect 4-0. One of the Las Vegas betting favorites for the Super Bowl, Kansas City is coming off a 19-13 loss against the Indianapolis Colts, and a 31-24 loss last Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Still, FanDuel has the Chiefs spotting the home team Broncos a field goal, and the over/under is at 48.5 points.

The moneyline is Kansas City -160, and Denver +138. A $100 bet on those odds respectively nets $62.50 and $138.

Rush to Win

The Broncos defense will do its best to keep Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on the sidelines. The superstar and MVP betting favorite (+230) has thrown for 2,104 yards this year on 14 touchdowns against just a single pick.

The Colts and Texans figured out the Chiefs’ weakness: defending the run. Kansas City allowed both teams to milk the clock and keep Mahomes off the field. The Colts ran for 180 years against Kansas City, and the Texans 192 yards.

Look, there’s just one area we don’t feel great about and it’s stopping the run,” said Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. “Somehow, some way, we have to figure it out. Until we stop it, we’re going to see it.”

FanDuel has odds on how many yards Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay will rush for. The over/under is at 70.5 yards.

Playoff, Super Bowl Odds

A win by Denver would throw the Broncos into the playoff picture, while a loss would severely lengthen their odds of a postseason bid. The Chiefs have been the Super Bowl favorite behind the New England Patriots, but a third consecutive loss would give bettors plenty of pause.

FanDuel presently has the Broncos at +650 to make the playoffs – implied odds of just 13.33 percent. The Chiefs are at -700 – implied odds of 87.5 percent. A $100 bet on Kansas City reaching the postseason nets a measly $14.29 on that line.

As for Super Bowl 54, the Patriots are the frontrunners at +260, and the New Orleans Saints next at +700. The Chiefs are now third (+850), and the San Francisco 49ers (+1100) and Green Bay Packers (+1200) round out the top five.

The Broncos are at a distant +13000, a $100 wager returning $13,000 should Denver hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy in February. Believers in QB Joe Flacco and the Orange Crush should make their Super Bowl bets now, because if Denver tops Kansas City tonight, those Super Bowl odds will certainly shorten.
