Hard Rock Las Vegas to Add Newly Planned 2K-Seat Theater

- The future Hard Rock Las Vegas has submitted blueprints to add a new 2,000-seat theater on its property’s west side
- The five-story venue will span 179,000 square feet and feature a karaoke bar
- The proposal joins two other entertainment conversions at the former Mirage site ahead of a 2027 grand opening
The Guitar Hotel tower rising over the Las Vegas Strip gets all the attention, but the inside of the future Hard Rock Las Vegas is also growing bigger by the day. A 2,000-seat theater has been added to the blueprints of the former Mirage site. It will be situated on the Hard Rock’s west side, and will connect directly to an interior promenade.
That’s in addition to two other entertainment conversions already underway:
- The former LOVE Theater, which had 2,013 seats when it housed Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles LOVE for nearly 18 years, is being expanded into 5,000-seat Hard Rock Live arena
- The 1,265-seat former Mirage Theater — once home to Danny Gans and then Terry Fator — is being converted into a still-unannounced concept.
The plan, filed with Clark County as part of a land‑use application, shows the new “west theater” adding roughly 179,000 square feet to the project’s footprint — with nearly 61,000 square feet dedicated to the auditorium itself. Additional space, spread out over its five stories, would include 67,465 square feet for pre‑function and backstage areas, 37,940 square feet of back‑of‑house operations, and 12,778 square feet for upper‑level technical infrastructure. There will also be a second-floor karaoke bar.
The proposal will go before the Paradise Town Advisory Board on June 30, with the Clark County Commission expected to vote on it in July.
Rock in a Large Place
The $4 billion transformation of the former Mirage into the Hard Rock was already the largest construction project in Las Vegas. It includes construction of the aforementioned 660‑foot Guitar Hotel Las Vegas, a 42‑story tower modeled after the company’s signature guitar‑shaped hotel in Florida.
The Las Vegas version will house 675 rooms and suites, while the fully renovated tri‑tower structure will bring the resort’s total room count to approximately 3,700.
When the property opens in the second half of 2027, it will feature nearly 175,000 square feet of gaming, multiple pools, two spas, dozens of restaurants and lounges, in addition to three major live entertainment venues.
