- The April 6 attack at a Florida casino involved an attempted robbery and a non-life-threatening leg wound
- Rapper Lil Tjay was arrested on unrelated charges nearby, while the actual shooter remains at large
Federal investigators released images Tuesday showing individuals and vehicles believed to be involved in the April 6 shooting of rapper Offset at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. They’re asking for the public’s help identifying the subjects of the images.

The shooting occurred at approximately 7:24 p.m. when a large group of people assaulted Offset outside the casino. During the confrontation, one member of the group pulled out a handgun and fired a single round, striking the Atlanta rapper in the leg. Investigators said the group then attempted to remove the rapper’s watch, but the robbery was unsuccessful.
Offset, whose legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was hospitalized with non‑life‑threatening injuries and released four days later.

Authorities said the suspects fled in two Chevrolet SUVs: a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and a black Chevrolet Suburban. Based on surveillance and witness accounts, investigators believe the Suburban fled north toward Hollywood, while the Tahoe traveled south toward Miami.
In the hours after the shooting, rapper Lil Tjay (Tione Jayden Merritt) was arrested nearby by Seminole Police. Authorities emphasized that he was not charged in connection with the shooting. Instead, he was booked on unrelated counts including disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Investigators have not announced any suspects charged directly in the shooting.

The case is being jointly investigated by the Seminole Police Department, the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime and Fugitive Task Force, and the FBI’s Miami field office. Because the Hard Rock sits on tribal land owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, a federally recognized tribe, crimes committed on the property fall under federal jurisdiction.

Offset Reacts
Offset was released from the hospital on April 10, and confirmed his recovery via Instagram.
“I’m good,” he wrote, “but I’m planning to be better! I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music…realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses…”
Offset shares three children with rapper Cardi B, who filed for divorce from him in 2024. He is also the father of three other children.
Offset grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia, alongside his fellow future Migos members, Quavo and Takeoff. In November 2022, Takeoff was shot and killed outside of a Houston, Texas bowling alley.
