EDGE Markets Will Process North of $2B in Transactions This NFL Season, Nearly 2x 2025 Total

Key Points

  • The fintech company forecasts transaction processing of more than $2 billion over this NFL season
  • That’s nearly double the $1.2 billion EDGE Markets handled during the 2025 NFL campaign
  • The company recently launched a real-time funding platform for prediction market traders

EDGE Markets, the financial technology (fintech) company focusing on customers who are prediction market traders and sports bettors, said today it expects to handle transaction volume of more than $2 billion over the course of the 2026 NFL season.

If that estimate proves accurate, it’s possible the company’s transaction volume over the course of the 2026 NFL campaign will come close to doubling or double the $1.2 billion it handled during the 2025 NFL season. Week Seven of the 2026 NFL season starts tonight and data confirm EDGE has momentum.

“Football season brings a surge in real-time activity for EDGE Boost cardholders. In the first 44 days of the season, EDGE processed more than $800 million in transactions, nearly four times over the same period last season,” according to a statement issued by the company.

The uptick in volume on EDGE’s various platforms makes sense because football is the most wagered-on sport in the U.S. and due to the rapid rise of prediction markets.

Momentum for EDGE Boost

EDGE’s first financial tool dedicated to sports bettors is the EDGE Boost debit card, which allows bettors and now prediction market traders to keep the funds allocated to those pursuits segregated from their everyday finances.

Customers fund EDGE Boost from their standard checking accounts, but the Visa debit card possesses advantages not held by traditional banking tools and those perks are critical in the 24/7 betting and prediction market environments.

For example, on a 24/7/365 basis, clients “can move money from their EDGE Boost balance to a partner market in real time even as traditional transfers sit idle,” according to the company. Additionally, traders can move as much as $5 million per transaction, up to $50 million per day, from EDGE Boost to three of the leading U.S. prediction markets.

EDGE doesn’t charge its customers fees to move funds to partner prediction markets and EDGE Boost “cardholders earn up to 0.5% cash back on qualifying spend categories.”

EDGE Forecast Is Credible

EDGE’s forecast of more than $2 billion in transaction volume over the course of this NFL season appears credible and could potentially prove light. At north of $800 million through the first 44 days of the NFL season, the $2 billion estimate could be topped because the holiday games and playoffs, which usually drive significant upticks in wagering activity, are still ahead.

“Football has become a 24/7 market, and the money behind it has been stuck on banking hours,” said Seni Thomas, CEO and Founder of EDGE Markets, in a statement. “Fans want a fast, dedicated way to fund their sports entertainment, and we keep building and improving our products around the idea that money should move as fast as the game does.”
