The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has launched a new version of its Bede App, powered by React Native technology.

The upgraded app is aimed at delivering fast and seamless omnichannel performance, even during peak traffic periods. Seamless, omnichannel gaming experiences, with a degree of personalization, is key for player retention.
“We’re delighted with how quickly and efficiently the transition to Bede’s React Native app has been – and the fact there’s been no disruption for our existing OLG.ca players speaks volumes about the impressive teamwork shown on both sides,” said Dave Pridmore, Chief Gaming Officer at OLG. “The intuitive experience built and well-considered support are representative of the high quality of work we’ve come to expect from our partners at Bede Gaming.
OLG rolled out a new sportsbook platform, in tandem with Kambi Group, the B2B sportsbook technology provider, in January 2026.
Intuitive Experience
“As OLG continues to prioritize our players’ experiences and expectations, we look forward to implementing even more market-leading enhancements throughout our ongoing digital growth.”
Pridmore pointed to the flexible foundation of the Bede technology, allowing OLG to update and improve the app as they move along, quickly, across different device types. That agility is key as player behaviors and trends change.
OLG uses mkodo’s GeoLocs for geolocation.
“The successful roll-out of our React Native App is testament to Bede’s continued commitment to our partnership with OLG and further proof of the passion we have for providing operational efficiencies to their team,” said Andrew Humphreys, Chief Product Engineering Officer at Bede Gaming.
“I’m excited about the additional competitive value that our Bede App will be able to offer; our flexible and cost-efficient solution will empower OLG to expand their outreach and capabilities in the mobile-first market.”
Strong Position For Crown Corporation
OLG is a crown corporation wholly owned by the government of Ontario. The organization is responsible for operating gaming facilities and charitable gaming, selling province-wide lottery products, and running online sports betting and igaming through its Proline brand and approximately 10,000 retail outlets.
With the news now, first reported by Canadian Gaming Business, that European online casino company Casumo is leaving the Ontario market, the province is down to 47 licensed operators that compete with the OLG’s Proline platform. That makes Ontario one of the most competitive igaming jurisdictions in the world.
According to Blask market research, Ontario is the only province where the regulated market meaningfully contains the grey. Grey market operators account for just 19% of estimated revenue in the province — the national average is 66%.
