BetMGM has launched an exclusive Game of Thrones slot in Ontario after announcing a multi-month partnership with Blueprint Gaming, a UK-based game studio.
U.S. Launch Coming Soon
Game of Thrones was an immensely popular epic HBO fantasy series that ran from 2011 to 2019, that became a cultural phenomenon, with a stellar cast, where noble families schemed, fought, and betrayed each other for control of the Iron Throne, while a larger supernatural menace loomed beyond the northern Wall.
BetMGM has released the new slot in Ontario, ahead of a planned U.S. market release later this summer.
The game, developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, draws on the scale and storytelling of the series, which is why slot games based on popular films or television series work, said Oliver Bartlett, Senior Vice President of Gaming at BetMGM.
Cultural Phenomenon
It’s about emotional connection and immersion – players aren’t just chasing wins, with generic fruit symbols. Every spin, with the dragons, favourite characters, and the show’s music, turns a game that can be repetitive into something where the player is tapping into their built-in love for the show.
“Game of Thrones is a cultural phenomenon,” said Bartlett. “Players come to BetMGM Casino for the best in entertainment, and Blueprint Gaming delivers an immersive slot that goes beyond the spin of a reel – it puts them right in the heart of Westeros.”
Blueprint’s Money Collect mechanic is at the core of the gameplay, which evolves as players progress. Engagement starts with the Night’s Watch Collect feature. Players then unlock the sigils of Westeros’ most powerful houses – House Stark, House Baratheon, House Lannister and House Targaryen – each introducing distinct modifiers that improve prize collection and gameplay depth.
Multi-Market Launch
There are wildfire-inspired modifiers and house-power features that offer additional layers of engagement for players. Blueprint reported that its recognizable IP and proven mechanics has driven strong engagement for the slot across other markets.
