Delaware North is slowly phasing out Betly in favor of Ember Casino, the company’s new iGaming brand that is debuting in New Jersey.

Ember Casino recently went live online across the Garden State through a partnership with Caesars Atlantic City and Caesars Interactive Entertainment.

New Jersey was the third-largest iGaming market in the country last year behind Pennsylvania and Michigan, with online casino players losing more than $2.91 billion to the regulated platforms. Delaware North is now in on the action despite not having a physical casino in Atlantic City.

Ember represents the next chapter for our gaming business. We are building a connected platform that integrates our digital and brick-and-mortar expertise, creating a seamless experience for players while positioning us for long-term growth in highly competitive regulated markets,” said Jason Gregorec, president of gaming for Delaware North.

Powered by Playtech, the Ember Casino features the latest online slots and live dealer table games, and BetBuddy, Playtech’s responsible gaming tool, is implemented.

Can Ember Gain Market Share?

New Jersey’s iGaming industry is mature, and market share is largely set.

In 2025, FanDuel and DraftKings dominated online casino gaming in New Jersey, respectively reporting gross gaming revenue (GGR) of $655.5 million and $569.7 million. The two leaders combined to account for 42% of the market.

BetMGM was third at $376 million, Borgata was fourth at $252.7 million, and Caesars Palace Online Casino was fifth at $203.6 million.

There are 23 other licensed online casino brands players in New Jersey can choose from, with the laundry list including Hard Rock Bet, BetRivers, BetFanatics, Bally Bet, Bet365, and BetParx.

Spin Palace, which ranked last among the 28 online casinos, reported iGaming GGR of under $6 million for the entire year.

Ember Rollout

Delaware North says its Ember Casino will expand to additional iGaming states in the future to unify its online casino business under the new brand.

Currently, the company only has two casinos in a legal iGaming state. They are both in West Virginia — Mardi Gras Casino Resort in Nitro and the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack. In the coming months, Delaware North will transition the Betly iGaming operation in West Virginia to the Ember Casino platform.

The New Jersey debut represents the first step in this transformation as Delaware North transitions its existing digital gaming operations from the Betly brand to Ember across current and future markets,” the release read.

Connecticut’s iGaming market is controlled by DraftKings and FanDuel. In Delaware, BetRivers is the sole iGaming operator. Michigan allows its commercial casinos in Detroit and Native American properties to partner with third-party operators, but, currently, all of those partnerships are satisfied. In Rhode Island, Bally’s has the monopoly on iGaming.

Pennsylvania and Maine’s forthcoming iGaming market are the two likeliest places Delaware North will look to expand Ember.
