BNO News reports that the shooter may have been a local YouTuber involved in a dispute with another online influencer, but law enforcement has not commented on those claims. YouTuber “Finny Da Legend” and a woman believed to be his partner were killed in the incident, according to BNO News.

Video Shows Shooting

The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. local time in the 3600 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers arrived on scene within minutes and confirmed at least one fatality. A homicide investigation is now underway.

Metro Police later confirmed that the that the suspect and the victims knew each other and “had previously engaged in conflict over social media.”

A video that was still available online at the time of publication shows crowds ducking and fleeing as shots rang out near the fountains, which attract thousands of nightly spectators. Witnesses described hearing approximately seven rounds fired in rapid succession.

The officers immediately ran towards that gunfire, and they found two victims who were lying on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” Undersheriff Andrew Walsh said in a statement. “Our officers rendered medical aid to both victims, but their efforts to save their lives were unsuccessful and both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Suspect Identified

LVMPD has urged the public to avoid the area as the scene remains active and cordoned off. Several blocks of the Strip were temporarily shut down as police combed the area for evidence and potential suspects. Fountains operations have been suspended until further notice.

“We are asking for patience as we work through the scene and gather facts,” a department spokesperson said in a midnight briefing. “This is an ongoing and fluid investigation.”

Police said they have identified a possible suspect who remains at large.

This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
