Manuel Ruiz, a 41-year-old YouTube livestreamer known as “Sin City Manny,” was arraigned in a Clark County District Court on Thursday morning for the double murder of rival livestreamers Rodney and Tanisha Finley on June 8.

During Ruiz’s appearance before the court, chief deputy district attorney Elizabeth Mercer said that the case will go before a death penalty review committee. That committee is expected to meet on July 29.

Ruiz is charged with two felony counts of murder with the use of a deadly weapon in the shooting, which occurred while the Finleys were livestreaming. Both victims died at the scene.

The recording clearly shows Ruiz pulling a handgun and firing it at Rodney (aka “Finny Da Legend”), who had retreated out of frame, as Tanisha screams, followed by another gun shot as the camera is knocked to the ground.

Las Vegas police say the shooting stemmed from a social media feud between the content creators. A day after the shooting, Ruiz turned himself in at a Henderson police station and claimed he acted in self-defense.

Ruiz remains at the Clark County Detention Center without bail and is expected back in court on August 4.
