Which dating apps deliver the best (and worst) odds for love?

Looking at the top 5 most popular dating apps globally and regionally (US and Canada), here’s how they rank when it comes to the luckiest and luckiest apps for singles.

Mirror, mirror, on the app store, who’s the luckiest of them all? Hinge swipes the crown as the luckiest dating app for finding love in 2025! Out of 19,870 reviews, about 11.8% are tied to real-life love stories – talk about a match made in data heaven. With 384 mentions of meeting a partner, 218 mentions of finding ‘the one’, and 171 people meeting their ‘LOML’ (love of my life), Hinge has successful love stories pouring it like heart emojis in a DM. True to its motto, ‘the dating app designed to be deleted’, it’s evident the app knows how to turn swipes into happily ever afters.

Bumble buzzes into 2nd place as the luckiest dating app, according to user reviews. Out of 36,807 reviews, 6.9% reveal successful love stories! The dating app leads in highest mentions for the following: ‘life partner’ (135), ‘wife’ (77), ‘married’ (77), and ‘engaged’ (23). With an additional impressive 181 mentions for ‘LOML’ (2nd highest overall), this app has a real sting for love!

OkCupid aims itself into 3rd place, with 5.8% of its 9,769 reviews leading to love connections. About 20% of their analyzed reviews mention users finding their current partner, while another 12% celebrate meeting their soulmate, OkCupid’s arrows are still hitting the matchmaking mark!

Tinder swipes left on luck, ranking as the least luckiest dating app in our study. Of its 66,968 reviews, only 4.2% were tied to successful connections. But don’t let the numbers discourage you – the app still sparked some high-profile romances! Stars like Jason and Kylie Kelce, ‘The Bachelor’ contestant Lauren Bushnell, and Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon all found their life partners through Tinder. It might just take longer than the other apps!

USA vs Canada: Luckiest dating apps revealed, regionally

When it comes to finding love, Hinge remains the luckiest dating app for singles in both the USA (8.3%) and Canada (7.5%). Bumble also holds its 2nd place ranking in both regions, but after that, things take a surprising twist.

In America, Tinder shockingly sparks some romance, swiping its way into 3rd place with 2.5% of reviews tied to love stories. Hot on its heels, Badoo lands in 4th, proving that even a ‘hookup’ app can pack a romantic punch. OkCupid misses the mark here, landing as the unluckiest dating app for Americans, with just 2.1% of users finding their happy ending.

Up in Canada, Badoo falls into 3rd place, with 1.7% of reviews leading to successful connections. Sadly, for Tinder, it gets iced out in Canada, reclaiming its title as the unluckiest dating app (1.3%).

Conclusion

Who knows, love might be just a swipe away! If you’re looking for your life partner, try these dating apps that have proven their ability to create lifelong connections. Here’s to finding love!

Methodology

To determine the ‘luckiest’ online dating apps, we used Appbot, an app review and ratings analysis tool, to conduct a thorough keyword search within review sections of each app (iOS App Store and Google Play Store versions).

The following terms were searched and tallied: life partner, engaged, fiancé, married, success story, soulmate, love of my life / LOML, found my, met my, husband, and wife.

After compiling the data, we calculated the percentage of love and luck-related mentions out of the total reviews of each app.

For global rankings, we analyzed reviews written in English to ensure keyword accuracy. For the USA and Canada rankings, reviews were filtered by country to ensure regional relevance.

The study focused on reviews posted between January 1st, 2024 to January 15, 2025, and analyzed only the top 5 most popular dating apps. Other common apps like Plenty of Fish were excluded due to insufficient data based on our search criteria.

Please note that OkCupid wasn’t included in the Canada rankings due to a lack of data.
