FABRIZIO ROMANO – 08.30am February 3rd
“It’s going to be a very busy deadline day across the Premier League.
“Tottenham are still looking for one or two signings. They want a defender and also reviewing the striker situation. We know that they wanted Mathys Tel, but that looks unlikely to happen now.
“I think Spurs will sign two players today; they have an agreement with Chelsea for Axel Disasi, but not yet an agreement with the player.
“Manchester United and Arsenal are also reviewing their forward options. Chelsea are also reviewing some potential activity late in the window.
“The striker market is going to be really busy. Arsenal and Spurs are both looking at a player, while Manchester United and the Mathys Tel situation is going to be really interesting.
“Tel is pushing to go out on loan, many clubs are interested. Bayern are insisting on a permanent transfer, or at the very least loan with an option to buy.
“At the moment, the possibility of Tel going to Man Utd is becoming complicated because Bayern are reluctant to loan and would prefer to sell.
“He is trying to find a solution with the club, and is meeting with Bayern today to find a solution and be allowed to go out on loan.
“Chelsea are also open to signing Mathys Tel and would do it permanently. The key thing with Tel is that he wants to play football regularly, but Chelsea cannot offer him those guarantees.
“With Tottenham, the deal is off because the player is not interested in that project.
“Arsenal could be the most important team to follow today. They are considering various opportunities and are definitely in the market to find an attacking player before the deadline.”
