Kylie Minogue Reportedly in Talks for Las Vegas Residency

Australian singer Kylie Minogue is reportedly in talks with Caesars Entertainment to do a Las Vegas residency.

We barely know who Kylie Minogue is, but do not let that dampen your enthusiasm about this potential residency if you are a fan.

We liked Kylie Minogue best during her “Disco” era, because everything was better during the disco era.

It’s being reported Kylie Minogue could do a 12-week run for nearly $120 million. That doesn’t sound right, but that’s what’s being reported.

Presumably, Minogue’s residency would be at Caesars Palace or Planet Hollywood.

The response on Twitter to a potential Minogue residency was a smidge underwhelming, so Caesars Entertainment could have its work cut out for it.

As a Daily Mail source put it, “While Kylie may not have a huge profile stateside, she is an absolutely massive draw for the Brits.”

Following dozens of minutes of intensive research, we believe this was her biggest hit.

Minogue is said to be the biggest-selling Australian artist of all time with 80 million records sold worldwide.

Speaking of Australians, we miss Steve Irwin. When Kylie Minogue does her residency, she should have a portion of the show devoted to Steve Irwin. She could ride in on a giant crocodile shouting, “Crikey!” Then she could roll around in mud with a koala bear wearing khaki shorts covered in sequins for some Las Vegas flair. To be clear, it would be Kylie Minogue wearing the sequin-covered khaki shorts, not the koala. Just spitballing here. She may have ideas of her own.

Anyway, while we aren’t sure what Kylie Minogue’s track record on environmentalism is, we do know Caesars Entertainment would welcome another resident artist of a certain age that draws visitors with lots of disposable income to gamble, eat, drink and cavort.

While there were some bumps along the way, Caesars Entertainment stuck it out with Adele and is currently reaping the rewards of her residency at The Colosseum. The line for merchandise alone stretched to Reno.

From what we can tell, Minogue is already familiar with what’s expected in a Vegas-style residency.

Minogue’s hits include “I Should Be So Lucky,” “The Loco-Motion,” “Hand on Your Heart,” “Better the Devil You Know,” “Spinning Around” and “On a Night Like This.”

She has had an impressive 34 top 10 hits in the U.K.

We love us some Brits, so the more the better in Las Vegas. Ditto Australians.

Fun fact: British and Australian accents are considered aphrodisiacs in the U.S.

There’s no additional information about when Kylie Minogue’s residency might launch, but you’ll know when we do.
