- Hard Rock gave $10 million in bonuses to its Atlantic City workers
- Hard Rock trailed only Borgata in AC gaming revenue last year
- Hard Rock is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City presented its workers with $10 million in bonuses as the Boardwalk resort has done now for four consecutive years.

Since its June 2018 opening, Hard Rock International, the Florida-based gaming and hospitality conglomerate owned by the Seminole Tribe, has distributed annual bonuses to its Atlantic City crew each February. Since February 2022, Hard Rock Atlantic City workers have received $10 million annually in bonus compensation. Last month was no different.
2024 was a record-breaking year in many categories for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, and we want to recognize the hard work of team members who made it all possible,” said Hard Rock International Chair Jim Allen.
Allen explained that Hard Rock Atlantic City experienced records in terms of overall profit, market share, hotel occupancy, slot win, and table game drop. It was also a banner year for convention, food and beverage, entertainment, spa, and hotel sales.
Along with the $10 million bonus, Hard Rock offered up $100K in cash and prizes at the town hall event thanking workers.
Hard Rock Performance
Hard Rock Atlantic City generated gross gaming revenue (GGR) of approximately $544.9 million on its brick-and-mortar casino floor last year.
The slot and table game win trailed only Atlantic City leader Borgata’s $738.1 million in the nine-casino market. Hard Rock’s iGaming and sports betting units added $187 million to bring the property’s full-year GGR to $731.9 million.
Hard Rock’s overall business was efficient, as the property reported record operating profits of $107 million through three quarters, the most recently disclosed 2024 filing. Hard Rock’s operating profit was tops in town aside from Borgata at $166.5 million.
While net revenue, inclusive of casino revenue and money from rooms, F&B, and entertainment, grew 5% to $455.8 million during the nine months, Hard Rock’s gross profit soared over 10%.
“Our team members are the reason for our success,” said George Goldhoff, president of Hard Rock AC.
Bonus Breakdown
Hard Rock allocates the $10 million budget pool based on an array of considerations, including seniority and position. Full and part-time, as well as union, nonunion, salaried, hourly, tipped, and nontipped workers all qualified for the bonus payouts. Upper management did not.
As of Feb. 1, 2025, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement says Hard Rock Atlantic City had 3,525 employees, or “rock stars” as the company calls its bandmates. Most were full-time (2,489).
If the $10 million was distributed among all employees evenly, the bonus would come to $2,836 per Hard Rock worker.
Hard Rock, like most other Atlantic City casinos, has scaled back its workforce in recent years amid higher labor costs. After Hard Rock and its neighbor, Ocean, opened in June 2018, total casino employment in Atlantic City eclipsed 30K. Today, employment at the nine properties totals about 22,600 workers.

Pedro, that’s the point. Salaried workers can work 80 hours a week and will still make the same as if they worked 40 hours a week and are often answering emails or texts on off hours. They do not receive overtime. The hourly should be grateful. You don’t see other casinos offering bonuses or trips or large cash prizes. Respectfully, Don
Don Munoz, maybe those supervisors should work 60 hrs a week like the hourly workers. That way they'll make more money than the hourly. As for people complaining about the amount they received; just be thankful you got a bonus. They didn't have to give you a bonus and they did.
It wouldn’t matter if they gave each employee $500 somebody would complain.a lot of people feel entitled but most don’t even want to work hard. Just look when you go to the store the cash register people don’t even want to bag your groceries but want $25 and hour. I bag my own but I do it super slow which forces them to help bag or the line will just get longer and less time for you to be on your phone
I got my bonus from me working at Hard Rock but it was barely nothing I only got $189.79 that’s terrible I was disappointed when I seen it that’s not a bonus
That is fantastic! So glad to hear that their hardworking staff are recognized!
That bonus reminds me of the 2001 George W. Bush $300 "this is your money" check. you received in the mail from the Treasury. Even then, it was miniscule.
Stay in school , kids!
Luigi, for union staff and some hourly, yes. But remember the contract the union signed two years ago. The union employees received large hourly rate increases. You had staff go from 16 to $20/hr over night and. That type of increase didn’t happen for the other staff so they give them large bonuses. Managers received 15%. Respectfully, Don
The bonus was $450 to each employee. After taxes $284.7 USD. Not even enough to pay for the gas bill. Thank you Hard Rock AC.
Interesting how Hard Rock had a record year but the bonuses were less than last year. Raises not even half of what inflation is. This was their attempt to keep the salaries employees happy with a 15% bonus. We will work you 10 hour days, six days a week (longer in the summer) so here are some scraps. There’s a joke in the casino industry and it’s do not convert you salary into an hourly wage. You will be disgusted. Hard Rock is still way above MGM and CET but the industry as a whole needs to do better. You have hourly making more than supervisors. Can’t happen, which is why turnover is high. Respectfully, Don
At least they are rewarding the employees for their hard work.
