Terence Crawford next fight odds; who will the Omaha man take on in 2026?
Summarize this post
Terence Crawford is on top of the boxing world following his brilliant victory over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez last month and everyone is waiting with bated breath to find out who he will fight next.
Having jumped up two weight divisions to fight for all the marbles at super middleweight, the Nebraska native put on a boxing clinic to claim a unanimous decision victory over the popular Mexican and jump to the head of the pound-for-pound rankings in the process.
Not only did that make him a five-weight world champion, but it also meant he is the first male fighter to become undisputed champion at three different weights in the four-belt era and he is now one of the biggest stars in the sport following that Allegiant Stadium blockbuster on Netflix.
We spoke to UK-based boxing journalist Chris Oliver, to discuss ‘Bud’s’ potential 2026 hitlist; along with the cities where the 38-year-old could fight next.
Jermell Charlo +250 (5/2) – 28.57% chance
The former undisputed super welterweight champion was dropped and outpointed by Canelo just over two years ago, but he remains a big name. Charlo has been vocal about his desire to face Crawford and there has been needle between the pair since Crawford knocked out his stablemate, Errol Spence Jr, in the summer of 2023.
Jermall Charlo +275, (11/4), 26.67% chance
Like his identical twin brother, Jermall has also called out Crawford on numerous occasions and he would be a notable name for the new pound-for-pound king to get motivated for. Having only fought twice in the last four years, Charlo doesn’t currently hold a belt but he is a former two-weight world champion and is unbeaten in 34 outings.
Retirement +350, (7/2), 22.22% chance
Crawford has dropped a few hints that he may not fight again and nobody could blame him for walking away at this stage of his career. There is very little more for him to achieve and while he has yet to show signs of decline, he did turn 38 last month and father time is unbeaten.
Hamzah Sheeraz +400, (4/1), 20% chance
The unbeaten Brit did a better job on Edgar Berlanga than Canelo when brutally stopping the Puerto Rican in five rounds to become the mandatory challenger for the WBC super middleweight title. If Crawford wants to hang on to that belt, then he would have to face Sheeraz, but the latter doesn’t yet have the ‘name value’ in the US.
Janibek Alimkhanuly +500, (5/1), 16.67% chance
Crawford skipped middleweight for his crack at Canelo and if he wants to become a six-weight world champion by dropping to 160lb, then Alimkhanuly would be the obvious opponent. The Kazakh holds two of the four belts in the division and is generally regarded as the best middleweight in the world.
Jaron Ennis +1200, (12/1), 7.69% chance
Ennis took over as number one at welterweight after Crawford moved up and he recently made a statement on his super welterweight debut with a first-round demolition of Uisma Lima. With 31 knockouts on a perfect 35-fight record, he may be the future in America but could be too high risk, low reward right now.
Chris Eubank Jr +1600 (16/1), 5.88% chance
The controversial Englishman gained plenty of new fans when prevailing in his barnburner with Conor Benn in April and a repeat in the upcoming rematch could launch Eubank to new levels. However, he remains relatively unknown Stateside.
Dmitry Bivol +5000, (50/1), 1.96% chance
Another option for Crawford to become a six-weight world champion is to step up to light heavyweight, but that would be an extremely risky move. Bivol is ‘the man’ at 175lb after claiming all four belts in his rematch with Artur Beterbiev and the six-foot Russian may well be a bridge too far, even for Crawford.
Potential venue of Crawford’s next fight:
Las Vegas -125, (4/5), 55.56% chance
Still the fight capital of the world and the venue of his Netflix blockbuster with Canelo Alvarez.
Omaha +275, (11/4), 26.67% chance
Crawford has fought in his native city plenty times in the past, including a homecoming victory over David Avanesyan in 2022.
Riyadh +300, (3/1), 25% chance
With Turki Al-Sheikh and his unlimited coffers currently pulling the strings in world boxing, Saudi Arabia is a potential venue for any top fighter right now.
New York +800, (8/1), 11.11% chance
With back-to-back fights at Madison Square Garden in 2019, New York has been a happy hunting ground for Crawford.
Other +1000, (10/1), 9.09% chance
The opponent could play a big part in where Crawford’s next fight ends up and that is still up in the air.
Los Angeles +1600, (16/1), 5.88% chance
LA’s BMO Stadium staged Crawford penultimate fight against Israil Madrimov, but that is the only time he has fought in the California city.
United Kingdom +2500, (25/1), 3.85% chance
May only be a possible if Crawford wants to tick a box of fighting in front of the famous British crowds.
