- Hollywood Casino is undergoing a rebranding
- A new, modern brand is being deployed at Hollywood Casinos in Pennsylvania
- There are 18 Hollywood casinos and gaming facilities in the US
The Hollywood Casino brand is undergoing a makeover. It appears the refresh will begin with the company’s casinos in Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, several Hollywood Casino social media accounts teased a brand overhaul. Videos and posts shared to X, Instagram, and Facebook revealed a sleeker, skinnier, perhaps cleaner typeface.
Farewell, old Hollywood,” the short clips began with Golden Age music playing. The tune then pivots to a modern upbeat track.
“A new vibe is coming to Hollywood Casino,” the spot concludes.
The Hollywood Casinos sharing the brand tease include Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course near Harrisburg, Pa. The three other Hollywood Casinos in Pennsylvania — Hollywood Casino York and Hollywood Casino Morgantown, both of which are so-called “mini-casinos” with a maximum of 750 slot machines and 40 live-dealer table games — also shared the brand refresh posts. Hollywood at The Meadows did, too.

Hollywood Brand
Hollywood is Penn Entertainment’s flagship brick-and-mortar casino brand. The Pennsylvania-based gaming operator acquired the Hollywood Casino Corp. and its three riverboats in 2003 for $688 million in cash and assumed debt.
The fresh logo is replacing the Hollywood Casino brand that Penn has used since acquiring Hollywood Casino Corp. more than two decades ago. The Hollywood logo was a variation of the iconic Hollywood Sign that overlooks Hollywood and Los Angeles from the Santa Monica Mountains.
Today, Penn lends the Hollywood brand to 18 casinos and gaming facilities in 11 states — Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Penn’s other land-based casino brands include Ameristar, Argosy, Boomtown, Cactus Petes, L’Auberge, M Resort, Margaritaville, Plainridge Park, and River City. Its core online gaming and mobile sports betting brands include ESPN Bet, Hollywood Casino, theScore, and Penn Play Casino.
Casino.org reached out to Penn Entertainment for clarity on the Hollywood Casino rebranding but didn’t hear back in time for this article. It appears the new logo and “vibe” are being first deployed to the company’s Pennsylvania operations, as Hollywood Casinos in other states didn’t share similar social media messages.
The new Hollywood Casino font has also been extended to the gaming firm’s iGaming platform, which is live in New Jersey and Michigan, in addition to Pennsylvania.
The new Hollywood Casino logo and icons were also used in Penn’s first-quarter earnings release last month.
Costly Rebrands
If Penn Entertainment is rolling out its new Hollywood Casino brand across the country with new physical marquees and casino signage replacements, it will mark yet another costly rebranding endeavor for the company.
After spending more than half a billion dollars to acquire Barstool Sports and transform its in-person sportsbooks to the Barstool brand between 2020 and 2023, Penn sold Barstool back to Dave Portnoy for just a dollar in 2023 after his involvement caused regulatory concerns. Penn then paid ESPN $1.5 billion to use the sports media brand and revamp its physical casino sportsbooks into ESPN Bet facilities.
The Barstool disaster has weighed heavily on Penn’s financial performance and has caused its stock price to crash from over $100 in 2021 to $17.30 as of trading on Wednesday afternoon.
