Resorts World Las Vegas will offer free parking, from June 2 through Aug. 28, at its guest and hotel parking garages.

There are “no strings attached,” the resort announced Friday on its social media pages. You don’t have to be a loyalty card holder. You don’t have to be a local. You don’t even have to visit Resorts World.
Well, they didn’t say that last part. But if you’re a jerk, you can probably get away with parking at Resorts World to see a show at the Sphere. Or to party at a Wynn nightclub. (Oh, man, Resorts World would really hate that.)
Resorts World didn’t explain why they’re making the offer, but we’ve got some good guesses.
Even without the current decline in gaming revenue, summer is a traditionally slow time for the Strip, since most visitors don’t enjoy the feeling of flesh melting off their faces. So this promotion presents a way of attracting more gamblers to Resorts World without the inconvenience it might cause to its overnight guests during a peak period.
Also, it’s an olive branch to the more traditional, value-conscious Vegas visitor of yesteryear, an invitation to people who are tired of all the nickel and diming — which these days more accurately could be called $50 and $100-ing. (As per Vital Vegas, MGM Resorts — the company that initiated paid parking on the Strip in 2016 — now charges $25 just for the plates, forks and napkins it delivers along with room service.)
And, as Fontainebleau was finally forced to admit earlier this week, when it had to lay off dozens of table games dealers, building a luxury Strip brand beyond where luxury customers are seeking one (north of the Wynn and Encore) was probably a losing battle from day one.
Parking Free for All
The only Strip properties that offer free parking for anyone anymore are Treasure Island, Circus Circus, Sahara and Casino Royale. Most others dole it out only as a reward for attaining certain casino loyalty program tier levels.
Self-parking rates at most Strip casinos typically range from $20 to as high as $50, with prices even higher during special events.
