Kambi Group, the B2B sportsbook technology provider, has officially taken over as operator of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG) Proline sportsbook following the successful completion of a novation agreement with FDJ Gaming Solutions France (FDJ).

It’s taken awhile. It was last February that Casino.org first reported that Kambi was taking over as OLG’s sportsbook partner, assuming FDJ’s OLG contract. That contract runs through 2032.

OLG Competes with Private Sector Operators

OLG is a Crown corporation wholly owned by the Government of Ontario, responsible for operating gaming facilities and charitable gaming, selling province-wide lottery products, and running online sports betting and igaming through its Proline brand and approximately 10,000 retail outlets. As a public entity, 100 per cent of its proceeds are reinvested in Ontario.

OLG launched its Kambi-powered sportsbook on Jan. 27.

We are delighted to have officially completed this transition and to begin this next chapter of our partnership with OLG,” said Werner Becher, Kambi Group Chief Executive Officer. “Having met the necessary conditions of the novation agreement, Kambi is excited to become the official sportsbook provider and to have launched with one of the world’s most respected lottery operators.

“We value our partnership with OLG and look forward to leveraging our proven technology to help them drive sustainable growth and provide a safe and entertaining betting product for their customers in Ontario.”

48 Licensed Operators in Ontario

OLG has an estimated 20% market share of Ontario’s regulated online casino and sports betting market, which currently has 48 licensed operators in the province since the private market went live in April 2022. There’s still an active grey market in Ontario as well. OLG’s objective is to offer Ontarians a more competitive platform.

OLG strives to provide a market leading PROLINE sports betting experience for our players,” said OLG President and CEO Duncan Hannay. “We look forward to working alongside our new partner, Kambi, who offers a proven track record of product excellence and reliability, as we deliver on our commitment to give back to the people and communities of Ontario. This is an exciting step forward for both organizations.”

This past week iGaming Ontario reported financial data for the private sector market in the province for December. In 2025, the Ontario private market generated just over $98 billion in handle, $4 billion in operators’ combined NAGGR. Twenty per cent of private operator revenue goes back to the province as tax.

OLG’s Fiscal Year ends March 31 and the crown corporation will report its financials then.
