Remember that “medical procedure” ordered by singer Vince Neil’s doctor? The one that forced Mötley Crüe to bump the start of its Park MGM residency from March until tonight? According to Neil, that medical procedure was recovering from a stroke he suffered the day after Christmas last year.

“My whole left side went out,” the 64-year-old rocker told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in an interview published Friday. “I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough. The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, ‘No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.’”

Neil said he never lost the ability to sing, just the ability to walk.

“I went from people carrying me to the bathroom … finally to a wheelchair,” he shared. “I graduated to a walker, and then I had a cane. Now I don’t need anything. But it’s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again.”

Neil claims he’s only coming clean now because he’s jogging again and is “90 to 95 percent to where I was before.”

However, during his return to the stage for a solo concert in Bethel, New York on Aug. 3, fans expressed concerns over his appearance, lack of mobility and having to read his own lyrics.

“This breaks my heart,” one fan wrote on Instagram. “There’s something else going on with him now and you can see it in his eyes, like something neurological isn’t right.”

The ’80s hair metal band’s third Las Vegas residency spans 10 shows from tonight through October 2 at Dolby Live at the Park MGM. Tickets are still available..
