Pennsylvania State Police allege in charging documents that a former female employee at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course used her position as a part-time booker to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars from the property’s racebook.

In a public information release, the PSP details numerous financial fraud allegations against Jennifer Petrillo of Manheim. The now 53-year-old is accused of diverting at least $727,446.65 from the Hollywood Casino racebook to personal accounts she and an accomplice controlled.
In March 2025, the Pennsylvania State Police were contacted by Hollywood Casino Penn National management after they learned about recently reported suspicious activity. An employee from the Hollywood Casino Penn National Horse Racing Office observed numerous discrepancies to possibly include fictitious accounts, unidentified person(s) and/or businesses, improperly completed paperwork, and numerous suspicious transactions,” the PSP detailed.
Hollywood Casino Penn National management determined that the discrepancies were not accidental or clerical errors. Upon further investigation, it was learned that Petrillo “conspired with a family member” to fraudulently transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars to falsified accounts, identities, and businesses.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course is operated by Penn Entertainment. The property is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties, Penn’s spinoff real estate investment trust.
Alleged Theft Preceded Luxury Purchases
Pennsylvania law enforcement believes Petrillo’s scheme began sometime in June 2024. That’s when Hollywood Casino Penn National pinpointed the first suspicious transaction from the racebook’s account.
The fraudulent accounts where the nearly $730,000 was directed were shown to fund numerous luxury purchases, from spa treatments and plastic surgeries to a Tesla Model 3. The criminal complaint says hundreds of thousands of dollars went to a Cash App and Robinhood account linked to Petrillo.
Along with financial services, the Robinhood platform includes a prediction market where traders can stake bets on the outcomes of various future events, including sports.
Pennsylvania court records show Petrillo is facing eight felony charges, including first-degree felonies for unlawful taking and knowledge that property is proceeds of an illegal act. She’s facing decades in prison if found guilty on all counts.
Petrillo otherwise has a clean record in Pennsylvania, aside from speeding and driving without a license convictions.
Suspect Had Racebook Account Access
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course told Pennsylvania police that Petrillo was one of only three employees who had access to the racebook’s holding account. The account was reportedly on an online bookkeeping software website that the parimutuel wagering facility utilized to handle financial transactions.
Penn National is one of only three remaining Thoroughbred racetracks in the commonwealth, with Parx Racing in Bensalem and Presque Isle Downs in Erie the two others. Parimutuel wagering at the three tracks is governed by the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association.
