Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City has a new 18-hole amenity tailored toward guests of all ages.

Last April, Casino.org reported that the Atlantic City Boardwalk property was undergoing a $50 million upgrade. While the bulk of the money went toward renovating the casino hotel’s 559 rooms that opened in 2012, funds were set aside for new family-friendly amenities, including an 18-hole miniature golf course.
On Saturday, Ocean officially opened Ocean’s 18 Mini Golf & Bar. Actor Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin in the “Happy Gilmore” movies, hosted the ceremony with “Jersey Shore” personalities Sammi Sweetheart Giancola and Jenni JWoww Farley.
Ocean’s 18 represents everything we strive for at Ocean Casino Resort — innovation, energy, and experiences that bring people together,” said Bill Callahan, Ocean Casino’s general manager. “By combining the nostalgia of mini golf with cutting-edge technology, a vibrant bar scene, and our unmatched entertainment offerings, Ocean’s 18 adds an entirely new dimension to the guest experience and reinforces Ocean as a must-visit destination in Atlantic City.”
Ocean’s 18 spans 8,000 square feet across two levels. The venue is open to guests of all ages until 9 pm, when it becomes 21-and-over. Ocean’s 18 is located on the Casino Level, adjacent to LaScala’s Fire.
Atlantic City Attractions
Atlantic City casinos continue to invest in nongaming offerings to draw families and new guests to the destination. Casino reps say the putt-putt golf course “adds another dynamic attraction” to the resort. Ocean’s physical casino generated gross gaming revenue of $468.1 million in 2025, which ranked third in Atlantic City behind Borgata ($800.8 million) and Hard Rock ($550.8 million).
Ocean’s 18 isn’t only about mini golf. The venue features a $500K immersive hologram developed by the same company behind the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The technology includes Ava the Avatar, a virtual human hologram that welcomes guests to the mini golf venue, answers questions, and prompts visitors to play the Challenge Hole. The golf course also boasts a 12-foot great white shark hologram that towers over a fully stocked bar. Ocean says it’s the world’s largest mini golf course hologram.
Like the Sphere, Ocean’s 18 hologram is customizable to display company logos and images.
Atlantic City Golf
For golfers looking for the real thing, Ocean Casino Resort coincided its Ocean’s 18 opening with special stay and play packages through partnerships with local golf courses. Since it’s mid-January, the stay and play deals are for this spring and summer. More details will soon be announced.
Atlantic City is home to several public golf courses, highlighted by the Donald Ross/Hugh Wilson and William Flynn/Howard Toomey-designed tracks at Seaview. Other notable public access courses include Ballamor Golf Club, Brigantine Golf Links, Harbor Pines, Linwood Country Club, McCullough’s Emerald Golf Links, Renault Winey Resort, Blue Herron Pines, Shore Gate, and Twisted Dune.
