- Chiefs betting favourite tonight in Brazil against the Chargers
- Bills-Ravens line toggling back and forth
- Lions most bet underdog to win
A nutty start to the new NFL season last night, with “spitgate”, a lightning storm delaying the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game by over an hour. Then, an uncharacteristic three dropped passes by the Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb contributed to the Eagles’ 24-20 win.

Wild Kick Off to NFL Season
Tonight, at 8 p.m. EST, the Kansas City Chiefs are in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to play the Los Angeles Chargers, as part of the NFL’s international tour. The ESPN Bet sportsbook moneyline is at Chargers +145, Chiefs -170. The Chiefs have won seven straight times against the Chargers.
The NFL then hits top gear Sunday with 13 games, then the Minnesota Vikings are in Chicago play the Bears Monday night.
Craziest Betting Trends
The five most bet games at Caesars Sportsbook are tonight’s Chiefs versus Chargers, Giants versus Commanders, Bengals versus Browns, Titans versus Broncos and Cardinals versus Saints.
That doesn’t include last night’s game, which will be one of the most bet on games all season.
“Opening weekend is always a heavily bet weekend as the excitement of football returning really reignites with bettors,” said Joey Feazel, Head of Football at Caesars Sportsbook. “Eagles-Cowboys is lining up to be the biggest bet game of the opening week thus far, and we would expect it to lead us in handle as we go through the season.”
At Caesars, primetime games from Week 1 of last year were some of the most bet games all season. Ravens versus Chiefs opening night was their second most bet game of the year, Packers versus Eagles Friday night was in the Top 10, and Rams versus Lions Sunday night was in the Top 20.
Notable Line Movement
At ESPN Bet, the Ravens and Bills Sunday night have toggled back and forth this week, now flips to the Ravens –1.5 from +1.5 yesterday. Both teams have been favored by 1.5 this week. The Bengals/Browns total is up one point to 48.5 on Friday morning. The Giants are in to +5.5 versus the Commanders on Friday morning after being +6.5 yesterday (opened +7.5). The 49ers are back to –1.5 (where they opened) versus the Seahawks after sitting at -2.5 on Thursday.
Bettors may be expecting a QB showdown tonight, as 9 of the top 10 non-TD player props for Chiefs-Chargers all revolve around Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert. Ladd McConkey 50+ receiving yards is the only non-QB prop currently in the top 10 most bet.
As of now, the top 4 most bet teams ATS for the Sunday slate are road teams, with the Bengals (@ Browns), Steelers (@ Jets), Lions (@ Packers), and Dolphins (@ Colts) receiving the most spread tickets among all teams playing on Sunday. The top two, Bengals and Steelers, are road favorites.
