- Loto-Québec announces the fourth gaming hall for the province, this one to be located in Saguenay, north of Quebec City
- Saguenay gaming hall set to open in 18 months
Loto-Québec has announced the opening of a new gaming hall, this one in Saguenay, located 120 miles north of Quebec City, home to more than 152,000 people.

It’s a city known for its natural beauty, national parks, located on Saguenay Fjord, which leads to the St. Lawrence River. The new gaming hall will be located at the Delta Hotel and its conference centre.
The project is scheduled to open in 18 months. Saguenay has tourist appeal – it’s a key economic driver for the region, along with wood and aluminum. The project will be counted on to bring in more visitors and conference attendees.
Gaming Hall Will Open in 18 Months
“We’re proud to present this project in Saguenay, a vibrant region known for its warm welcome and development potential,” said Jean-Francois Bergeron, President and Chief Executive Officer at Loto-Québec. “The Salon de jeux will generate positive spin-offs for the community, notably through job creation and tourist spending, as well as through the business partnerships that will arise.
“Our priority remains to offer an environment where gaming is overseen safely and responsibly, fostering low-risk gambling. Our teams are trained to support clients, and the location will benefit from state-of-the-art security systems.”
Salons de Jeux
According to a Loto-Québec statement, in addition to gaming options, the establishment will feature shows and live entertainment. The launch event yesterday in Saguenay was led by several elected officials. That included Jonquière MNA Yannick Gagnon and Saguenay Mayor Luc Boivin, as well as regional economic and tourism leaders.
Loto-Québec manages gaming in the province. Quebec currently has three gaming halls, known as “salons de jeux” – Salon de jeux de Quebec (in Quebec City), Salon de jeux de Trois-Rivieres, and Salon de jeux de Rimouski (under construction and scheduled to open in 2026 at the Hotel Rimouski). Gaming halls feature slot machines, video lottery terminals, electronic roulette, and electronic blackjack.
Economic Spin-Offs
We enthusiastically welcome Loto-Québec to our city,” said Luc Boivin, Mayor of Saguenay. “Showcasing Saguenay is one of my priorities, and with this new location, which focuses on quality offerings in a safe environment, our city will strengthen its appeal as a tourist destination and gain a valuable asset for hosting business events. We’ll continue to support Loto-Québec to ensure the project’s success and generate economic spinoffs for the region as a whole.”
