Cascades Casino Resort in Langley, B.C., is wrapping up a month of celebration around the property’s 20th anniversary, a casino that has delivered over CAD $121 million in payments to host municipality City of Langley over those two decades.
Over $120 Million Paid to Municipality
There are 20 casinos in the province, each contributing a share of the net gaming revenue to the host municipality.
Cascades Casino Resort, with over 80,000 square feet of floor space, over 1,000 slot machines, poker room, blackjack , bingo, and roulette tables, has brought in over 29 million visitors across it gaming floor since it opened, grilled 64,717 ATLAS steak and fish steaks in the Josper oven, and 97,738 signature burgers have been cooked up at MATCH Eatery & Public House.
The casino went through an $18 million expansion and renovation in 2019, adding 11,000 square feet of entertainment space, and launched Cascades Bingo in 2018.
Mobile Wallets a Game Changer
In fiscal 2023/24 the city received CAD $7.9 million in Host Local Government Payments.
The actual anniversary date was May 5.
According to Ray MacNeil, Vice President, Operations BC East, at Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd., cashless payments and mobile wallets are potential “gamechangers” for the property, looking forward to the next 20 years.
We’ve got exciting updates happening around the casino,” he said. “We always have the latest slot machines, packed with fun themes that our players love. We also launched our new poker app for iPhone, for players to view wait times and sign up for a game at multiple poker rooms.
“Something that our players appreciate are quick and seamless experiences. To make things even easier on the floor, we’ve installed brand-new ticket redemption machines. Guests can quickly cash out slot tickets or break bills without the wait. We’re also upgrading how we connect with players. Soon, offers and bonuses will be sent straight to their phones or inboxes. That will make the process to utilize these offers simple and easy.”
Celebrations Wrap Up Today
The casino has had some major giveaways throughout the month and their Twister Tuesdays cash giveaways have been a hit with patrons.
The grand finale is today and will feature Mystery Seat Draws, two slot tournaments and a live DJ at the Summit Bar.
