- Richmond, BC, casino property is in the midst of capital improvements
- Dredging at its on-site marina is the latest development in reactivating the facility
River Rock Casino Resort has announced the commencement of dredging at its on-site marina, another significant step toward fully reactivating the 130-slip facility.

Dredging is the process of removing silt, sand, and other material from the bottom of bodies of water, as it gradually fills channels and harbors. The Fraser River has filled the marina with natural sediment over the years, impacting the access of vessels. The dredging process will restore safe navigation and moorage. The marina, which has slips for 70 boats up to 70-feet long, is set to reopen this spring.
Capital Improvements
The resort has 400 rooms, all with Fraser River views, and the casino has 1,150 slots and e-tables, over 80 live-table games, a live racebook, a poker room, and amenities like a spa.
Gordon Ramsay Steak, the first fine dining establishment in Canada from Ramsay, recently opened there.
According to a statement from Great Canadian Entertainment, which operates the property, the marina project is part of a multifaceted capital improvement at River Rock Casino Resort that began last year.
Marina Component
Along with the new Gordon Ramsay restaurant, MIKU, an aburi-style Japanese restaurant, will be opening there this fall.
On the gaming side, improvements include an expanded Jade Room with new slot machines, a new Prive Lounge with a dedicated bar on the gaming floor, an expansion of the Maple Leaf Room, including new private gaming rooms.
Great Canadian Entertainment operates gaming and entertainment properties across 23 cities coast to coast.
Jackpot Digital’s Expansion
Vancouver-based Jackpot Digital announced Monday the installation of five Jackpot Blitz dealerless poker electronic tables at Win-River Resort & Casino, a U.S. Tribal Casino property in Redding, Calif.
Jackpot’s product is a fully automated casino poker table eliminating the need for traditional live dealers. The company says it’s committed to expanding its presence in the North American land-based casino gaming market.
