Kenny Chesney has canceled two of his upcoming Las Vegas Sphere dates, becoming the first headliner in the Sphere’s nearly three-year history to do so.

Ticketholders to the country singer’s July 3 and 4 performances received a message from Chesney this week explaining his decision, and also a promo code for them to use toward one of his future Sphere dates.

Chesney, the globular wonder’s first country headliner, blamed his cancellation on the pressure placed by his schedule on his family’s holiday traditions.

“Over the last few weeks, I’ve heard about a lot of traditions that wouldn’t be happening — because I was going to play Las Vegas over the 4th of July weekend,” Chesney wrote. “Hearing from people I know and care about, I heard them loud and clear.”

The cancellations trim Chesney’s previously announced six‑show extension down to four. Chesney’s remaining added dates are July 1, 8, 10 and 11, which are still on sale. These dates follow his initial summer run of June 19, 20, 24, 26 and 27.

Jack White Unplugs You

Jack White will play the BleauLive Theater inside Fontainebleau on Friday, Oct. 2 The general on-sale for tickets begins 10 a.m. PT Friday, April 17, at Ticketmaster or fontainebleaulasvegas.com.

If you plan to go, don’t plan to record the experience, however.  It’s a “phone-free” show, meaning that all devices must be locked in magnetic Yondr pouches before entering the venue’s seating area.

White, the former lead singer and guitarist for the White Stripes, has long been the strongest anti‑phone voice in live music. (His April 17, 2022 show at the Cosmopolitan was also phone-free, as have been nearly all his tours since 2018.)

Why the ban? Unlike comedians — who forbid phones to prevent new material from leaking onto YouTube — White’s reasoning is more philosophical than protective. He’s said repeatedly that phones pull audiences out of the moment, flatten the energy in the room, and turn concerts into content‑harvesting sessions instead of communal experiences.

Strat Orchestrates Emo

The touring production employs a full orchestra to reimagine the eyeliner‑and‑heartache era, including hits from from My Chemical Romance, New Found Glory, and Dashboard Confessional.

Tickets, starting at $62.33, are on sale now through the Strat’s website.
