Despite all Las Vegas media outlets regurgitating the corporate publicity spin, Las Vegas fared embarrassingly poorly in two recent prestigious food rankings.

Only two Sin City restaurants cracked the top 100 in the annual LaListe ranking of the world’s top 1,000 restaurants. The global fine-dining benchmark, started in 2015, aggregates data from over 700 guides, critics, and crowd-sourced reviews across 195 countries.
Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace, which received two Michelin stars in 2008, was ranked No. 67 by LaListe, while Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand, which has three Michelin stars, squeaked in at No. 85. (LaListe did rank Robuchon’s original Paris restaurant No. 1 in the world, however — for the ninth consecutive year.)
But it gets much more embarrassing than that…
Only two other Vegas restaurants appeared anywhere in the 900 subordinate slots: Le Cirque at Bellagio (No. 412) and Wing Lei at Wynn Las Vegas (No. 728).
Three of the four Las Vegas restaurants named are French, though LaListe is a French-based group that supposedly considers all cuisines equally.
Not even a single Las Vegas establishment made the other annual list, The World’s Best Steaks — though many culinary experts consider Las Vegas to be the actual hub for the world’s best steaks.
This year, the London-based steak-ranking group, which publishes an annual list of the globe’s 101 best steak restaurants, established a “North America’s 50 Best” regional list. We think this was to at least give US publicity departments something to work with.
Yet its title is misleading. That list doesn’t really represent what the group considers the 50 best steak restaurants in North America. You can figure that out by counting the 19 US names that made the cut this year. (No Canadian establishments did.)
The new list only spotlights runner-ups for the global list.
So, among the North American steakhouses not considered good enough to make the list of the world’s 101 best, Delmonico, the classic dining destination from Chef Emeril Lagasse at The Venetian Resort, was the sole Las Vegas steakhouse represented.

And it only ranked No. 37.
What. An. Honor.
Dining Ins & Outs
Eggslut, the LA breakfast joint famous for its signature dish, The Slut – a coddled egg over potato purée served in a jar — will hatch its second Vegas location at the Rio on December 19. It debuted in Vegas at the Cosmopolitan in June 2018.
Guerrilla Pizza recently opened on the ground floor of the Soho Lofts building downtown. It’s the first permanent home for the Detroit-style rectangular pies that owner Robby Cunningham introduced to Las Vegas from the kitchen of Hard Hat Lounge from to 2019 to 2023.
