Modo Casino and Spire Motorsports announced the gaming company will sponsor Carson Hocevar’s No. 77 car for four NASCAR races this year, starting with the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Dayton International Speedway on Aug. 23.

Modo is a unit of Miami-based ARB Interactive, which recently acquired Publishers Clearing House (PCH). The NASCAR relationship is ARB’s second in the world of motorsports. The gaming company already has a sponsorship agreement with the BWT Alpine Formula One (F1) team.
I’ve been looking forward to kicking off the Modo Casino partnership and introducing its games to the NASCAR world,” said Carson Hocevar, driver of the No. 77 car, in a statement. “Modo Casino has been growing its presence through Formula 1 and working with content creators, so I’m excited to join the team and continue building that growth.”
After the Daytona race, Modo will sponsor Hocevar’s ride for another three races in October — the Cup Series tilts at The Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, and Martinsville Speedway. Hocevar was 20th in the points standings entering Saturday’s race at Richmond.
Modo Casino Getting Its Name Out There
NASCAR has long been one of the most corporate-facing sports in the US and the association and its teams have sponsorship accords with a variety of companies spanning myriad industries.
For its part, Modo Casino describes itself as “America’s fastest-growing social casino platform.” Players can “wager” for “free-to-win prizes, including cash and experiences.” Modo players use in-game coins to play slots and table games, such as baccarat and blackjack.
Modo avoids the controversies associated with sweepstakes casinos because the company is the purveyor of a free-to-play platform.
“Modo Casino is our flagship free to play gaming platform, designed for thrill-seekers who crave casino action anywhere, anytime. From classic table games to the latest video slots, Modo brings new games every day, offering something for every kind of play,” according to ARB’s website.
Social casinos may position themselves as kinder, gentler alternatives to traditional wagering, though many don’t offer opportunities to win real money.
NASCAR Extends Betting Embrace
Since the 2018 Supreme Court ruling on the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), NASCAR hasn’t been shy about cozying up to gaming companies. FanDuel is the authorized gaming partner of the series and several races are sponsored by casinos.
Sportsbook operators BetMGM and DraftKings have previously sponsored cars for select NASCAR races. Earlier this week, DraftKings inked a deal with Kaulig Racing to have its name on Ty Dillon’s No. 10 Chevrolet for two September races.
