In a presentation to investors in January, management at High Roller Technologies talked about strategic expansion efforts to increase their total addressable market for 2025, and market penetration into Ontario was very much on the wish list.

The Las Vegas-based company, which operates High Roller and Fruta online casino brands, announced that it has applied for a gaming operator license in Ontario. The operator’s goal is to go live with HighRoller.com in the second half of 2025.

The submission of our licensing application to access Ontario’s regulated online gambling market is an important milestone in our Company’s journey,” said High Roller CEO Ben Clemes. “Once our application is approved, we anticipate that we will have the opportunity to launch our online casino product into the market later this year.”

Ontario is one of the largest regulated online gambling markets in the world, registering CA$3.2 billion in gross gaming revenue covering the financial year from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.

One of the World’s Largest Gambling Markets

Casino dominates in Ontario with revenue registering at CA$2.4 billion for the year (36% year-over-year increase). There are 49 licensed operators and 83 gaming websites in Ontario. Seventy-three of those sites have a casino component.

Ontario is missing an elegant brand like High Roller,” said Clemes. “We’re excited to roll out the red carpet for our new customers, and we’re looking forward to showcasing our tremendous product.”

In a statement, the company said it also intends to pursue a gaming license in Alberta for when that market goes live, likely in early 2026.

$2.4 Billion in Revenue

High Roller offers a portfolio of 5,000 games from more than 90 leading game providers. High Roller became a publicly traded company on the NYSE last year.

The company won gaming awards at the 2024 WN iGaming Summit, including Casino Operator of the Year, and High Roller’s CMO, Sven Kaltenegger, receiving iGaming Leader of the Year. High Roller was also awarded Best Player Retention 2024 at the SiGMA Europe B2C Awards.
