A new kind of betting on sports that combines the familiarity of sports predictions with the thrill of high-stakes casino-style jackpots has been approved by iGaming Ontario and can now be offered by licensed operators to players in the province.

Called SuperPot, its manufacturers at Delasport say it will be a complement to sports betting in a hyper-competitive iGaming market in the province.

SuperPot has been certified by GLI. It consists of a must-win mechanism, where SuperPot players predict the outcomes of various major sports events.

Their purchased tickets progressively build the pot, creating a competition and a shared pool that grows with participation. Real-time leaderboards are a feature, similar to a tournament among bettors.

Prediction Meets Casino-Like Jackpots

The player with the most correct predictions across a set of games wins, even if that person fails to guess all the outcomes correctly. That ensures a guaranteed daily winner, boosting excitement. Tickets are low cost, making it both a cost-effective and simpler way for operators to bring players from the casino side over to sports betting. It’s easier to win while enhancing the experience for those who are already betting on sports.

Sports betting involves wagering real money on specific outcomes like wins and losses, spreads, and totals, where payouts are determined by fixed odds set by a bookmaker. There’s higher risk for big parlays. You either win based on the odds or you lose your stakes, and there’s no shared prize pool or competitive element like with SuperPot.

First of its Kind in Ontario

SuperPot supports predictions across six sports – soccer, American football, baseball, basketball, tennis, and hockey. It allows the mixing of different sports and leagues into a single pot.

Delasport is a provider of sportsbook software solutions for the iGaming industry.

“SuperPot is fully compliant now in Ontario, and it redefines the game by merging sports betting with the thrill of casino jackpots. It delivers a high-reward experience that excites casual players and seasoned bettors alike,” said Delasport CCO Filippo Ferri. “SuperPot is available to every Ontarian operator locally, and we are working on securing iGO approval to launch it as a network game as well.”

$10 Billion in Sportsbetting Turnover

According to iGO, Ontario’s 2025 sportsbook turnover is projected to be around $10 billion. Ferri said SuperPot can drive another 2%-4% in additional revenue, potentially.

Out of 50 licensed iGaming operators in Ontario, 35 offer sports betting platforms.
