All tickets to Dolly Parton’s first Las Vegas residency in 32 years sold out the same day, making her only the fourth performer in the history of the Caesars Palace Colosseum to accomplish this feat after Celine Dion, Garth Brooks and Adele.
What year is this again?

At 10 a.m. on Wednesday, a mere 48 hours after Parton’s six-show residency jaunt was announced, more than 70,000 people waited in the queue to buy 26,000 tickets. And it doesn’t take a mathematician to know what those numbers were going to add up to.

Only 75 minutes later, Ticketmaster announced that all tickets were gone.
“Dolly’s Vegas residency sold out so fast I didn’t even get a chance to click ‘buy,’” tweeted X user @CountyHeart88. “Ticketmaster crashed for me, and now I’m seeing $8,000 resale prices. Wow.”
On the most popular ticket reselling site, StubHub, opening-night tickets range from $1,466 for the cheap seats to $10,683 up front. (But hurry, as of Friday afternoon, only four were left at that price!)
Parton’s residency will play the Colosseum Dec. 4, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 13, 2025.
Why So Popular?
The answer to the mystery of this residency’s popularity lies not in Parton’s relevance to contemporary pop culture but in a perfect storm of factors.
- Scarcity: Parton hasn’t performed an extended Vegas run since the early 1990s at the Mirage, and her last tour, in 2016, was nearly a decade ago.
- Her Enduring Brand: Dolly’s seven-decade career as a singer-songwriter has produced timeless hits like “Jolene,” “9 to 5” and “I Will Always Love You,” which resonate across generations. And Dollywood, her Tennessee theme park, still attracts over 3 million visitors annually.
- Venue Size: The Colosseum holds 4,000 people. That’s half the size of the average venue on her 2016 tour.
- National Finals Rodeo: More than 170,000 country music fans are expected to jam the Las Vegas Strip for the annual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association event, which runs Dec. 4-13. Those are the same dates that Dolly is playing, so if you go, don’t be surprised if your view of Dolly is partially obstructed by a giant hat.
