Detroit Lions Announce BetMGM as First Sports Betting Partner

Just in time for the launch of NFL season, the Detroit Lions have named BetMGM as its first official sports betting partner.

In-Game Activations

The agreement includes co-branded content and in-game activations. BetMGM will also release two new Lions-branded casino games – Motor City Slingo and Gridiron Goal.

“The Detroit Lions historic relationship with BetMGM has been years in the making and we’re proud to announce details of our official partnership,” said Detroit Lions Team President Rod Wood. “We’re continuously seeking new ways to entertain and involve our fans which is especially important during such unusual times; this partnership with BetMGM will provide additional and exciting opportunities to engage our fans.”

New App for New Season

BetMGM announced the rollout of a new app which it says is its fastest, most intuitive and rewarding app experience to date, featuring a sleek new look with dark theme, scrollable displays, new parlay builders, live same-game parlays, live tracking for Apple users and a redesigned rewards dashboard.

In Canada, the Lions have a big following. Not surprisingly the largest market for Canadian ticket sales for the Lions is in the Windsor area (around 5% of season ticket holders overall).

According to BetMGM betting insights, the Lions are among the most bet to miss the playoffs (tickets), at +150, along with the Minnesota Vikings (-105) and the Washington Commanders (+115). 

Packers Betting Favourite

The Lions are also among the highest handle percentage at win the Super Bowl (11.8%) at BetMGM, after the Buffalo Bills (13.9%) and the Philadelphia Eagles (12.2%).

“When we first opened the BetMGM Sports Lounge at MGM Grand Detroit in March, we hoped to develop deep relationships with the state’s top teams,” said BetMGM’s Chief Marketing Officer Matt Prevost. “We are honored to be the first sports betting partner of the Lions and to offer their fans access to a variety of best-in-class promotions and perks only available on BetMGM.”

The Lions open up Sunday against Micah Parsons and the Packers, in Green Bay at 4:25 p.m., with the BetMGM moneyline at Lions +118, Packers -139.

BetMGM currently operates in 29 markets with mobile and retail offerings.
